The stunning Ansonia (Hotel), 1904, built in the Beaux Arts–style, designed by French architect Paul Duboy. Yes, it’s one of our many Parisian style apartment buildings on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. It was financed by W. E. D. Stokes to be one of the most prestigious hotel and residential buildings in NYC. For over a century, many well known artists have been known to reside in the Ansonia, including Gustav Mahler, Igor Stravinsky, Arturo Toscanini, Richard Dreyfus, Florenz Ziegfeld Jr., Enrico Caruso - and the list continues! Walk the streets of New York City and you may want to look up once in a while.
