Fantastic final performance for AATT Academy at BAAD! Proud of my 6-9 year old students who not only studied ballet, but also hip hop, salsa, Bangladeshi folk, gymnastics, vogue, yoga and boxing! I am honored and privileged to teach for an organization whose mission is to provide accessible dance training to children and to empower and provide artistic opportunity to women, people of color and the LGBQT+ community.

Callie Hatchett is a New York City based dance artist. She holds a BA in Dance from The University of Alabama, an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and an MS in Education and Special Education from Touro College. She is a certified Pilates instructor through the Pilates Certification Center. Callie teaches for BAAD! The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance, Chrystie Street Ballet Academy, Mark DeGarmo Dance and New York City Ballet. She is also director and choreographer of Callie Hatchett Dance.

Thanks to the New York Times and Julia Jacobs for this beautiful article about my work with New York City Ballet and my students at Girls Prep! It is such an honor to work for this organization!

New York City Ballet invited 4,500 students to see the show. We hung out with third graders from Girls Prep Bronx and talked ballet.
