13 days. From the Douro to the Algarve. This is how it could unfold.

A journey through Portugal that moves from vineyard-lined river valleys to historic cities and the Atlantic coast - designed to feel unhurried, with space to experience each place as it reveals itself.

Here’s how it could unfold:

Day 1–4: Douro Valley
A slower beginning, shaped by river views, vineyard landscapes, and time outdoors.

Day 5: Porto
A day layered with history, atmosphere, and food, explored through a local lens.

Day 6–7: Lisbon
A shift in rhythm, with space to wander, explore nearby towns, or simply take it in.

Day 8–12: Algarve
Coastline, countryside, and long, easy days that move at their own pace.

Day 13: Departure
A calm and well-paced close to the journey.

It’s a route designed to balance movement and stillness, bringing together shared experiences and time to reset, so every generation can enjoy it in their own way.

We share a selection of these itineraries on our website, starting points for journeys that are always tailored beyond them: www.adlermarlow.com/sample-itineraries.

9 days. Spain to Portugal. This could be your summer.

Imagine arriving on the Andalusian coast, easing into the rhythm of the sea, before moving inland through olive groves and long, unhurried lunches.

Then a shift in pace - Porto, with its layered streets and riverfront energy - followed by the stillness of the Douro Valley, and a final stretch along the coast.

Here’s how it could unfold:

Day 1–2: Marbella
Time by the sea, and a day on the water.

Day 3–5: Andalusia
Olive groves, long lunches, and cooking together in a local home.

Day 6–7: Porto
A slower rhythm, with space to explore and take it in.

Day 8: Douro Valley
Vineyards, a private boat, and a day that moves at its own pace.

Day 9: Aveiro
Canals, coastal air, and one last light, easy day.

A journey that moves naturally from one place to the next, with space to experience each destination fully.

A solar eclipse lasts a few minutes. The experience around it lasts much longer.

In August 2026, Spain will see one of those rare moments people travel for - but how and where you experience it makes all the difference.

As our Dream Trip Designer, Brianna, shares in her latest piece, the starting point is never the eclipse itself, but how you want the experience to feel once it’s over.

Along the northern coast, in places like Asturias, Cantabria, and the Basque Country, the landscape opens toward the Atlantic. The air softens, the pace slows, and the setting lends itself to a quieter, more expansive experience.

In the Balearic Islands, from Mallorca to Menorca or Ibiza, the day feels lighter. The horizon stretches, the rhythm slows, and the moment unfolds with a sense of ease, shaped by sea and open sky.

Further south, in Andalusia, the experience takes on more depth. Warm light, open landscapes, and long summer evenings create a setting where the day builds gradually, and the eclipse becomes part of a wider experience.

Each location offers something distinct, and each shapes the moment in its own way.

We’ve explored these perspectives in more detail in Brianna’s full piece: www.adlermarlow.com/post/luxury-solar-eclipse-spain-2026

Behind every journey we design, there’s a partnership.

Each one begins with a shared understanding of the client, how they travel, and what will make the experience feel right for them.

Our role is to bring the destination into that process - shaping everything that sits behind the scenes, from pacing and access to the details that define how the journey feels as a whole.

The advisors we work with bring the relationship and a deep understanding of their clients.

We bring the local knowledge, the structure, and the on-the-ground support that allows everything to come together seamlessly.

Along the way, we also share what we’re seeing on the ground. From destination insights and evolving trends to curated itineraries, new openings, and Virtual FAMs that keep the conversation momovin

If you’re an advisor looking to shape a journey across Spain, Portugal, or Morocco, you’ll find more of how we work at adlermarlow.com.

Luxury travel is changing.

It’s no longer defined only by how many stars a hotel has, or how polished something looks from the outside.

Those elements still play a role, but what stays with people tends to be something else.

The time to move through a place without rushing. The conversation with a guide who knows it deeply. A lunch set somewhere private, where the setting feels as considered as the food itself. Moments that feel natural, yet carefully shaped.

Where the experience is defined by access, understanding, and how everything comes together, rather than any single element on its own.

More and more, luxury is becoming something that feels personal, connected, and lasting.

There’s a side of Spain that feels entirely different - the hidden Galicia.

Along the Atlantic coast, the landscape, pace, and overall experience shift in a way that feels particularly well-suited to summer travel.

The coastline is more dramatic, the rhythm more measured, and the food culture closely tied to its surroundings.

We’re seeing growing interest from travelers looking to explore Spain from a different perspective.

For advisors, Galicia offers an opportunity to introduce something that feels both distinct and well-grounded within a Spain itinerary.

Our next Virtual FAM event, hosted by Founder & CEO Danny Adler, is designed to give you a clear introduction to the region and how it can be positioned within your clients’ journeys.

We hope to see you on Wednesday - register here: www.adlermarlow.com/virtual-fam/virtual-fam-hidden-galicia

The most meaningful journeys are often the ones shared across generations.

They usually begin with one person holding the bigger picture in mind - bringing together different expectations, rhythms, and ways of experiencing a place.

Some move through a destination quickly, drawn to what’s new.
Others settle into it more slowly, paying attention to detail, atmosphere, and time.

Over the course of a few days, something begins to shift. The pace softens, shared moments take shape more naturally, and the experience starts to feel less like something being planned, and more like something being lived.

Designing journeys like this means thinking beyond the itinerary, giving each person space within the experience, while still holding the group together.

The planning fades into the background, and what remains is simply time spent well.

Together, but not all in the same way.

Some of the most useful travel insights come from someone who lives there.

Recently, a member of our marketing team shared what it means to experience Valencia with two toddlers.

Instead of packed itineraries, this blog is about exploring the city the way families actually move through a place.

And Valencia rewards a different pace. The kind that leaves space for long lunches, shaded pauses, and days that unfold naturally, rather than being structured too tightly. It’s a city that feels at its best when you allow room for it.

What comes through in this guide is how the city works - from the Turia as a natural backbone for the day, to the rhythm that makes it easier for families to move, pause, and enjoy the experience without constantly planning the next step.

It’s a first-hand perspective, shaped by living in the city, and it offers a very different way of approaching Valencia, especially when traveling with children.

If you’ve ever thought about bringing your community together, it usually starts in much the same way.

With an idea - a theme, a perspective, a way of creating something shared.

A long table somewhere unexpected, mornings that unfold slowly, and conversations that carry into the evening. The kind of experience people remember long after they return home.

There is a shift that happens when people step out of their usual environment and into a different setting. The pace changes, time opens up, and connections begin to take shape more naturally.

Travel creates that space.

Across a few days, the right setting allows a group to settle into a different rhythm, where shared experiences build organically - whether that’s through workshops, creative sessions, time spent together, or simply being in the same place at the same time.

What shapes it is often less visible.

The pacing of each day, the energy of the group, and the way each moment connects to the next.

Across Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, this is where our role sits.

We shape the setting, the flow, and everything behind the scenes, so the experience feels considered, cohesive, and effortless for everyone involved.

It’s a direction more and more of our partners are beginning to explore, and one we’ve dedicated space to on our website: https://www.adlermarlow.com/retreats/host-a-retreat

Working with us means access to what’s happening on the ground.

One of the ways we share that with our travel advisor network is through our Virtual FAM series.

These are live sessions designed to offer a deeper, more practical understanding of the destinations we work in.

On April 29, we’re hosting our next session: Hidden Galicia.

Led by our Founder & CEO, Danny Adler, this session explores a side of Spain that is often overlooked, but increasingly relevant for today’s travelers.

Galicia offers something different. A cooler alternative for summer travel, shaped by wild Atlantic coastline, slower rhythms, and a food culture rooted in simplicity, seasonality, and proximity to the sea. During the session, Danny will share how we approach this region on the ground.

From how we design routes and pacing, to the kinds of experiences that resonate most with clients.

These sessions are part of how we stay closely connected to what’s evolving across Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, and how we ensure our advisor network stays one step ahead.

If you’re planning Spain for your clients this summer, and would like to join us, you’re very welcome.

Register to attend the live session on April 29, or receive the recording afterward: https://www.adlermarlow.com/virtual-fam/virtual-fam-hidden-galicia
