Notes from Captain's Meeting:
-Charity this year: Ronald McDonald House Auckland (located next to WARR Bandstand & across from Hospital)
-Award is wooden & laminated in polyurethane (good to know for Customs forms, so it's allowable to enter your country...since it's treated)
-Running track is mostly paved, some firm grassy areas; beyond Museum portion (1K mark) there may be speed bumps & low lying branches.
-Your bib will only record the race you're registered in, so if you walk passed recorder & didn't register for other race, computer will not count it.
-Toilets available near beginning of race course, near museum (1K mark) and near duck pond(4K mark). Water station will be posted at 1/2 way mark bend (choke point).
-Walkers: try to walk 2 side-by-side preferably as road are NOT closed, so watch for traffic & other pedestrians! There will be plenty of marshallers, so you can't get lost. (Take time to THANK marshallers as they are volunteering to be up early to help us succeed)!
-Wear bibs on outer-most garment for proper registration & wear correct bib (don't accidentally wear your roomate's bib or could be disqualified)!
TONIGHT: T-shirt swap Party (17:00- 20:00)
DALMATION Cultural Society (17 min walk from host hotel)
10 New North Rd (just down Symonds St. which becomes North Rd)
Race Day TOMORROW:
10K: 7:00 warm-up; 7:15 line-up; 7:30 Race...needs to be done by 8:45.
5K: 8:30 warm-up; 8:45 line-up; 9:00 Race...complete by 10:45.
To collect your amazing Award Medal, need to scan bib chip at Award Table to receive medal!
If you wish to drop anything off, one can set things down on (covered) Grandstand behind DJ. DO NOT bring valuables as this will be unattended. Coffee & Snack shack will be nearby for contactless purchases, but WARR provides hydration, bars & fruit after race.
DINNER: At Wynyard Pavilion & The Conservatory (18:00-23:00ish). Only 25 feet apart, so combined venues after dinner. First-come/first-served tables. Will be provided color-coded wrist bands (color tells servers which meal you purchased)
W.A.R.R. 2025 will be: KOLTEN (Zurich), SWITZERLAND!
