We bring art into everyday life by collaborating with an eclectic mix of known and emerging artists ✨ As the firm grew, so too did our product scope.
Founded in 1979, Galison is now a team of more than 30, based in New York City, as part of Galison Publishing LLC, owned by the McEvoy Group. In the beginning, we worked with museums to make select art imagery widely available in the form of smartly designed paper products. With the successful publication of assorted calendars and books, we expanded our portfolio to include fine art stationery, bo

for writers. Today, Galison offers a dazzling array of puzzles, games, gifts, stationery, home decor products and desk accessories. Our innovation in puzzles and games, in particular, has set us on the path to becoming a key player in that market. At the same time, our intent with all our work remains to continue inspiring our customers — to bring more art into everyday life.

Galison was founded in 1979 to work with museums to make artist imagery widely available in the form of well-designed paper products. Galison first published calendars and a few books before focusing primarily on fine art stationery, boxed notecards, greeting cards, personalized Christmas cards, journals, and other gift products for writers. During this time the company was known as Galison Books or GMG Publishing.
Our products are sold at museum shops, top specialty retailers, and independent gift and bookstores everywhere.
Over the years, Galison has worked with museums, non-profit organizations, and diverse businesses and corporations to create private label custom products. The McEvoy Group, a media company based in San Francisco, acquired Galison in March 2012. McEvoy’s other holdings include Chronicle Books and Princeton Architectural Press.
With new collections each year, Galison keeps growing in both size and the scope of its product ranges. Gifts now include porcelain trays, coasters, desk accessories, and home office products. We are an innovator in the puzzle and game market, which has become our biggest category. Our vision is to become one of the key players in puzzles and to inspire our customers to add more art into their lives in forms of home decor, stationery, and desk accessories.
We are proud to have the chance to work with and express art together with many known and unknown artists such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Frank Lloyd Wright, and many more. We love discovering new artists and we work hard to give our customers a wide range of designs that can be used every day.
We are a small hardworking team of 25 based in New York City.
