**WOMEN , PLEASE AVOID THIS DOCTOR FOR YOUR OWN SAKE.**

I made an appointment to see Dr Scheufler, after being in constant severe pain for a month.

I have been a patient of this physician for well over a decade. He had minimized my concerns on a prior visit when the sleep difficulties I've had all my life were wearing me a little thin. His reply to my concerns was to ask if I had coffee in the morning. I told him I typically have a large up of coffee when I wake around 7AM, but don't drink caffeine through the day.

His reply, " You cant expect to sleep well at night if you have a cup of coffee in the morning.."

I was very unhappy he minimized my concerns but didn't want to get into it, so I resigned myself to continuing to sleep poorly hoping something would change.

I was in a severe car accident the end of last year and have been living with physical changes since. I had received prior treatment at his office and physical therapy at an outpost.

I was seen by the nurse upon arrival; she was friendly and interested in what I told her about how I had been feeling, She expressed empathy as she should see I was in extreme discomfort. She also noticed my blood pressure was significantly elevated due to pain.

When Dr Scheufler came in the room he asked a few brief questions, I told him I'd been in severe pain from when I wake, constantly through the day and night. I told him it's even waking me at night and often time I only get around 4 hours sleep.

I explicitly told him I didn't want any sort of strong pain medication, because I don't like how it makes me feel. I've made similar statements all along in my treatment.

He asked me to show him where it hurt and I told him my lower back and hips as I motioned to those parts of my body. His reply, "Those aren't your hips."
(I'm a mature woman and clearly know where my hips are.)

He never touches me once to physically examine me.

The next thing he said was, "Well, you've gained weight since your last visit. Which could be effecting your recovery." My mobility and function has been greatly reduced since my accident but I hadn't noticed my body looking different or my clothes getting tighter.

I asked him how much weigh I gained, His reply, ......"Two pounds." And he continued on with I should keep a food journal for the next two weeks and call him at that time to see how I'm feeling. He sent me out the door with a prescription for strong ibuprofen to help the swelling.

My significant concern regarding being in constant pain for over a month was discounted ... all because I gained TWO POUNDS since my accident in September.

I called back in two weeks as he requested. The message I left is that I would not be keeping a food journal and that I'd be be leaving the practice due to the fact. Dr Scheufler clearly minimizes the concerns of women.
