Looking for a good hiking trail in Maui? At the end of The Road to Hana there’s this amazing hike. As we walked through the bamboo forest the wind gently clicked the bamboo together, making the most awesome chime music! It’s a beautiful hike and kid friendly too. Be aware that you do have to purchase a pass into the Haleakala National Park to hike this trail, but the pass gets you into the park for a week and there are so many incredible trails, sunrises, sunsets, and other things to see that it’s totally worth it!

If you’re coming to Maui and don’t go to Old Lahaina Luau, did you even actually go to Maui?

The best day to see the sunrise at Haleakala Volcano National Park is your first or second day because you’re still on ‘mainland’ time. You need to leave your hotel by 3 am to drive up to the top in time to see the sunrise. It’s a must see! You can even book a sunrise bike tour where you are taken to the top to see the sunrise and then ride a bike down the mountain road. Follow me for more travel tips.
