The latest Moai found was in a dried up lake! This discovery happened 3 yrs ago near Rano Raraku. According to the video, this one is small compared to the majority on the island. In 2008 I saw many Moai statues toppled and half buried strewn throughout the island. 🗿 Would love to go back!

Heading out to the Mayan temple ‘Uaxactun’ in Northern Guatemala with my guide and a local historian. Uaxactun was only 30 mi north of UNESCO site Tikal. It was a great trip camping a couple days in the Peten jungle and hanging with the locals.

Makah Tribe carved hieroglyphs 200-300 yrs ago at the Wedding Rocks. You could check these out approx. 10 mi hike low tide near Cape Alava via the Ozette Loop Trail, Olympic National Park.
