If you’ve heard about Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) you might picture a group of close friends gathered in their parents’ basement to play a game steeped in magic and mystery, but there is great depth hiding within that simple gathering. The fact that D&D has tenaciously held an audience for over forty years speaks to it being an incredible forum for engaging imaginations, encouraging creative storytel
ling, and building close friendships based on shared experiences. Players of all backgrounds and ages hone interpersonal skills, experience personal growth, and stretch their ability to problem-solve in wildly varied ways—exploring new worlds both within and outside of themselves. Dungeons & Dragons has an enormous positive impact, but remains unknown and inaccessible to many younger players who would enjoy and benefit from it enormously. For that reason, we have formed the Seeker’s Guild—a company dedicated to giving players an opportunity to engage with the Dungeons & Dragons platform in a welcoming, non-judgmental space. We provide guided opportunities to learn the game in a way that is especially supportive, meaningful, and challenging. Beginning as just a few people passionate about Dungeons & Dragons, we realized that we wanted to do more than simply experience the game for ourselves—Seeker’s Guild aims to actively create and cultivate a community for the next generation of adventurers to whom we can hand the torch. With that said, we are excited to announce that the Seeker’s Guild has officially launched its website at http://www.seekersguild.us! We are creating opportunities for players (ages 10+) in the East Bay and beyond to learn, play, and grow through Dungeons & Dragons while immersing themselves in worlds they will play an active role in building. Seeker’s Guild is offering full 12-week campaigns, one-shots for those who want to be introduced to the Dungeons & Dragons system, and focused workshops for those wanting to dig deeper into the D&D universe.
