💥 MY EPIC UNIVERSE TIPS 💥

Next up is Celestial Park:

🏆 LAYOUT - This is the park's hub. But it has a story. It acts as the world between worlds where portals have been created for you to go to different worlds (each portal)

🏆 ATTRACTIONS - There are two attractions. Constellation Carousel is a unique take on a carousel that is beautiful especially at night. Stardust Racers is being called by many as the best roller coaster in Orlando. Very thrilling dueling coaster and another one that's extra beautiful at night.

🏆 DINING - There's SO many dining offerings in Celestial Park from Starbucks to snack stands to higher end restaurants. Two getting extra great reviews at Atlantic Restaurant and Pizza Moon.

My tips for this portal:
🏆 Watch the frequent water fountain shows. They do one that includes iconic music from each portal.

🏆 Definitely eat in this part of the park. There are wonderful places to try and it's a beautiful and expansive hub.

🏆 Listen to the music! This is the first time Universal created a score specifically for a park area. It's beautiful and really gives the area a vibe.

I can't wait for this family of four to experience these amazing places together - Cannes in France, Florence, Pisa, Rome and Naples in Italy, Messina in Sicily, Malta and Palma Majorca in Spain! What an epic summer trip before the kids go back to school.

#2 - Jamaica is one of the islands in the Caribbean that has banned camouflage print being worn by civilians and has been the case for more than 70 years.

In general, I recommend avoiding camouflage print in most of the Caribbean islands. The idea is that these countries want to maintain clear distinction between military and nonmilitary.

⚓️ Travel Tip Tuesday - River Cruises Edition! ⚓️

Many river cruises are more casual than you think.

I think European River Cruises have the reputation of being only for the rich and fancy peeps. This really isn't the case. It's often a much more casual experience than even many ocean cruise lines. The advertising tends to showcase the elderly, lots of fancy wine, very formal staff and suit jackets. In reality, this just isn't...reality.

For example, many wear what they wore exploring the city to dinner that night on the longship. There aren't any formal nights, there's no fancy captains dinner, there are no dance halls or ball rooms or even theaters. There's no dress code.

What I ate on my first EPIC UNIVERSE day!

🔥 Dragon Fire Chicken Spire at Hooligan's Grog & Gruel (Isle of Berk) - $14.49
A large garlic-bread type cone with everything bagel seasoning on it filled with mac n cheese, spicy pulled chicken, hot honey, Calabrian peppers, chimichurri and crispy onions. I wouldn't get this again. All the elements were yummy but there was too much of the bread and not enough of the chicken. Honestly, I'd rather have all the ingredients (minus the mac though it was quality mac) on a sandwich rather than in a bread cone.

🍅 Galette de Tomates et Fromage at Café L’air De La Sirène (Wizarding World) - $17
Roasted tomato, soubise and goat cheese baked in a butter pastry with a side salad. This was absolutely delicious and I would get it again in a heartbeat. The pastry was fantastic quality. Though the menu didn't say olives, there were a variety in this dish. It was so buttery, delicate and and savory.

💀 Red Velvet Death at Das Stakehaus (Dark Universe) - $6.99
A red velvet heart "beet" coffin cake with chocolate crumbs and puffed rice maggots. Very cute, very themed but actually quite tasty too. I liked the texture of the "maggots" and cookie crumbs. And the cake as well as the creme in the middle was not super sweet. Very well balanced dessert. I would order this again. Funny though, it's a somewhat difficult restaurant to eat in if you are squeamish. There was a very gory man behind our table with blood dripping everywhere. 😟

❄️ Devil's Club Brewing - unique brews, delicious food, casual setting
❄️ Mendenhall Glacier - wonderful place for hiking. In late summer, you can watch the salmon swimming up stream in the river along the hiking trails
❄️ Walking around town - there are tons of great shops and restaurants
❄️ Red Dog Saloon - famous saloon originating from Jueanu's mining era and now world famous
