‼️We need your help‼️

Our patrol team found this HUGE hole on the beach during their morning survey at the Tarpon Street beach access in Destin and we are asking you to help us fill it in!

The team filled in what they could with their time this morning, but unfortunately, this hole was just too much!

If you head out there and help us fill it in, take some pictures and send them to us! We will make sure to shout you out on our page! 😁

Just a reminder that per Okaloosa County Ordinance No. 2024-05, "all holes dug on the County beach property are required to be attended, shall be filled prior to leaving the beach/property and shall not be larger than three-feet by three-feet and no deeper than two-feet."

Please keep our beaches FLAT! Holes like this pose a threat to our sea turtles, but also our beachgoers as well!

Construction information.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ON OKALOOSA ISLAND: Santa Rosa Boulevard will be closed nightly just north of the U.S. 98 intersection from Monday, July 14 through Thursday, July 17, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

The closures are necessary for crews to place beams for the new westbound bridge structure as part of the Brooks Bridge Replacement Project.

During the closures, drivers will be detoured via the roadway west of the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center to access Santa Rosa Boulevard north of the closure point. Access to adjacent properties and businesses will remain open throughout the construction period.

The nighttime work is part of the $171 million Brooks Bridge Replacement Project, which involves constructing two new, parallel bridges. The project will increase capacity from four to six travel lanes, replacing the current bridge that opened in 1966.
Project completion is estimated for summer 2027.

All construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled if inclement weather occurs. Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling through the work zone, particularly at night, and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
