🇺🇸 DC Day 1: Remembering Those Who Served
Our first day in Washington, DC began with two powerful reminders of the cost of service and sacrifice.
We visited Arlington National Cemetery, walking among the rows of white headstones and taking time to reflect on the lives of those who gave so much in service to our country. We also visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a place that invites quiet reflection, gratitude, and prayer.
For our students, this was more than a history lesson. It was an opportunity to consider sacrifice, courage, service, and the hope we have through Christ.
“I am the resurrection and the life.” — John 11:25
We also visited the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima Memorial), honoring the Marines who gave their lives during World War II.
History feels different when you can stand where these stories are remembered.
And this was only the beginning of Day 1. 🇺🇸
