This August, your child could spend five days at the helm of the 46-foot sailing vessel, Boundless, on the coast of Maine, navigating real waters, leading a real crew, and discovering something about themselves that no classroom could hand them.

Just the open water, an intimate crew counting on them, and the quiet, powerful discovery that they are more capable than they ever believed.

Every student aboard the vessel Boundless rotates through real leadership roles — Captain of the Day, Navigator, First Mate, Deck Crew — and keeps a Captain's Portfolio. We learn real-life applications of marine science, meteorology, astronomy, and leadership on board.

Two cohorts. Six students each. Small by design.

Attention Adventurers ages 12 and up ....
Sail Maine this AUGUST with Different Drum Sailing Adventures!

Scholarships are available for students who apply to be part of this incredible experience ~ a few spots still available.

We (CELC) have now taken students to the Chesapeake Bay, Maine and the Bahamas aboard Boundless with Captain Jeff of Different Drum Sailing Adventures
This is real-life learning!

Students learn to "run" the boat, taking on all aspects from raising sails and setting anchor to navigating a course and cooking in the galley!

Consider becoming part of a group for a wonderful summer expedition! You may contact Melinda at CELC with any questions or for more information.

Sailing is at once incredibly peaceful and thrilling. Truth is present at all times. Moving via wind power necessitates working with physics and nature, remaining flexible, adaptable, courageous, and being ready for anything. It enlivens the spirit.

It is something to see how students take to the responsibilities aboard Boundless as they learn the skills needed to run the boat and notice what is important in life.

Worldschool Sailing - August 2026

Hello beautiful people! Come join us for an epic week along the Maine Coast aboard Boundless, where teens learn to raise and drop anchor, navigate waters via compass and maps, read weather, ocean, and wind patterns, and take the wheel as Captain.

6 students maximum per voyage
2 voyages - August 3-7 & August 10-14
Leaving from Portland, Maine

We are two worldschooling educators, partnering with a local sailing education organization with 30+ years of experience teaching students how to sail!
