Fun Fact Friday!

The Trade Dollar wasn't created primarily for circulation in the United States.

Introduced in 1873, it was designed to help American merchants compete in overseas markets, especially in Asia, where silver trade coins were widely used.

It's one of the few U.S. coins created specifically with international commerce in mind.

This one is from the archive, but if you want to learn more or browse our inventory, click the link below!

We have something REALLY special in auction right now — a rare PCGS “110” Rattler holder!

For collectors of early PCGS holders, the elusive “110” is a serious rarity. These holders are exceptionally difficult to find, and opportunities to add one to a collection simply don’t come around very often.

That makes this week’s auction a particularly exciting one.

Whether you’re a dedicated Rattler collector, a PCGS generation collector, or you’ve simply been waiting for the chance to own a “110,” you’ll want to take a closer look at this one.

A genuinely rare piece of PCGS history — and it’s in auction RIGHT NOW. 👀 Link below. Auction ends Sunday, 9/20/26.

Fun Fact Friday!

The U.S. Mint introduced the 20-cent piece in 1875, hoping it would make transactions more convenient.

Unfortunately, the coin looked so similar to the quarter that people often confused the two. The denomination never gained widespread acceptance and was discontinued just a few years later.

This 1875-CC BF-2 Twenty Cent Piece, PCGS AU58 CAC is from our archives, but keep an eye on our site for more!

Our Coin of the Week is here.

This 1809 dime, PCGS AU50 is the piece we’re putting front and center this week — a coin we felt was worth highlighting all on its own. The 1809 Capped Bust Dime was the first year of the iconic Capped Bust design and had a mintage of just 51,065. Most saw heavy circulation, making nice examples especially desirable today.
