Would you let your kids do this?? 🫣

And by this, we mean having the absolute highlight experience of their summer. Our Kids Climbing Camps spend days on the Tahoe Via Ferrata, rock climbing on Donner Summit, hiking around Olympic Valley, and otherwise having more fun than pretty much anyone else out here.

Use these programs to save money on rock climbing πŸ’°πŸ§—β€β™€οΈ

The Bundle and Referral programs are designed to help welcome more climbers (and skiers, and mountaineers) to be intentional with their progression and bring friends along the way. Stack courses, bring friends, and save money. It's that simple.

You can climb a mountain in Tahoe for your first-ever climb, period.

This is the Tahoe Via. We've taken everyone from five-year-olds to eight-five-year-olds (and just about everyone in between) to the summit of the Tram Face, right here in Olympic Valley.

Come see us this summer! ⚑

The preparation for Everest starts on Cho Oyu.

At 8,188 meters on the Nepal-Tibet border, Cho Oyu is the sixth-highest mountain on Earth and offers the least technical climbing of any 8,000-meter peak. Everest is visible from the summit. The acclimatization demands at this altitude are the closest preparation available for anything higher.

We're guiding Cho Oyu this season, find the expedition details here: https://alpenglowexpeditions.com/expedition/cho-oyu-rapid-ascent-expedition

Six to seven inches of new snow fell on Shasta this weekend, and the mountain is in good shape.
Coverage runs summit to parking lot. Misery Hill has a short section of exposed rock that requires a walk, but below that the skiing is uninterrupted. Expect breakable ice crust in spots this week as the new snow compacts.

Looking ahead: the freeze-thaw cycle is developing well. By next week, the main routes should firm into reliable spring corn. If you've been waiting for the right window, it's coming together.
Guided climb and ski trips are running this spring.

Recovery at altitude is a skill, and the more deliberately you rest, eat, and rebuild between days on the mountain, the stronger you move when it matters.

Base camp on Aconcagua is where that work happens. Thanks to our friends at Aconcagua Vision, we give ourselves the best chance possible.

The Volcanoes of Chile Ski Expedition takes experienced backcountry skiers and splitboarders onto a series of active volcanoes over nine days. Approaches run two to six hours of touring per peak, the slopes hold corn snow between 30 and 45 degrees, and the bigger days cover more than 5,000 vertical feet of descent.

The Tahoe Via Ferrata climbs granite nearly 2,000 feet above Olympic Valley.

No climbing background needed. Every guide on the route is AMGA certified, the industry standard for climbing instruction in North America, so you're moving through the mountains with people who know exactly what they're doing.

Plenty of folks arrive a little nervous. Everyone leaves surprised by how capable they felt up there.
