If you are in the market for a really unique Horween Shell Cordovan straight razor strop, then look no further. This one is made from Dark Kea and is a deep, complex blue-green shade with dark teal undertones and dramatic color variation depending on the light. It’s a fairly rare Horween color variant and one I have never made a strop from before.

Comes complete with hand-stitched handles, solid brass hardware, and Irish h**p second surface. Only 2 available and likely won’t get this color again for a while. Deaconleather.com

The Alden in marbled black and natural Horween shell cordovan.

Fully hand stitched with cream linen thread, then finished with polished edges to keep everything as clean as possible.

Simple wallet, but a lot of work went into getting the proportions, construction, and finish exactly where I wanted them.

This one is currently available on the website in the bio!

Finally getting the new mark onto some leather. Still one of those steps where you hold your breath a little.

Here is a custom sized English Bridle belt that’s built for the long run. It has a blocked and stitched keeper along with a solid brass roller buckle. Oval holes help it lay flat for a comfortable fit.

Trying to summon cooler weather with this wallet.

The exterior features a very interesting piece of Marbled Black Horween Shell Cordovan, and the interior has a whole bunch of premium Italian veg tan going on. Probably not for everyone, but I think the colors play nicely with each other.

The entire wallet is fully lined (card pockets included), stitched by hand, and has glassy smooth edge finishing.

Splitting shell is always going to be terrifying. At around $100+ a square foot, there’s not much room for mistakes, and I know watching that Horween stamp get removed hurts all of you. But if I want to fully line the wallet without making it ridiculously thick, some material has to come off.

“Skiving” is the process of thinning leather, usually along an edge. Here, the card pocket is feathered down gradually to reduce bulk and make it less visible through the outer layer. It keeps the wallet slimmer and gives the finished piece a cleaner look and feel.

I would argue that the pinnacle of straight razor stropping leather is Horween Shell Cordovan.

It is incredibly dense, has a lightning fast draw, and is absolutely beautiful to boot.

This one is a bit longer than most I make and has hand stitched handles, solid brass hardware, and an Irish h**p second surface. 3” wide to avoid those pesky X strokes.

For the Gourmet wet shavers.
