✨ Monday night at Millwork Commons with Andrea Joy’s sound bath was pure soul medicine. The soothing vibes, the beautiful space, and the chance to capture it all. It's moments like these remind me that energy exchange isn’t just about money. 🌱💫
Andrea describes that sometimes it’s a hug that grounds you, a photo that freezes time, or a listening ear that makes you feel seen. She offers monetary as a way to exchange energy, but it wasn't mandatory. I loved that! Her goal at this sound bath was to make to accessible to folks.
After a few hard lessons these past few months in "bartering" and "trading," it's crucial to find balance - pouring my energy not creating and feeling it flow back through my photography, sharing a coffee, or consultation services (cause my ideas are valuable).
So how do you ensure your energy exchanges are mutual? Here are a few ways I keep mine in check:
✨ Set Clear Intentions: Be upfront about what you’re giving and what you’d love to receive – whether it’s money, support, or a heartfelt thank you.
✨ Communicate Boundaries: If you’re pouring out your energy, make sure you’re also being poured into – through connection, gratitude, or tangible support.
✨ Check In With Yourself: Notice how you feel after each exchange – energized or drained? It’s a clue to whether the flow is balanced.
✨ Ask for What You Need: It’s okay to say, “Hey, I love creating for you, but I also need XYZ in return.” Clear asks lead to clear exchanges.
How do you exchange energy with your loved ones and new people? Where do you draw the line? 💖
