I could write a long story on what was a disappointing tournament day, yesterday. It was tough & crowded fishing and you had to be perfect to have a chance to compete against these guys. I have a lot of respect for how good these guys are and if you aren't prepared and on top of your game, you have no chance of being competitive. I caught a small limit and missed one good one, along with a bunch of 11"s. I leaned heavily on the frog (clearly) and picked off a few on a spinnerbait and jika rig. Not a good year for me with The Sticks fishing club but hopefully can end on a high note at the club championship in a few weeks

It was a fun morning other than the blistering heat! I fished a small segment of the lake I was at, for a few hours, and still managed a pretty nice bag. I had 98" for my best 5 and 60.75" for my best 3. My big bass came later in the afternoon, measuring 21.50" (felt like a cinder block lifting it up). I caught them about whatever way I wanted in the morning, but the stingy afternoon bite had my jig and shakey head locked in my hands the rest of the trip. If it weren't for the 100° temps I would have hit more of the lake and looked for another cull or two, but that heat was brutal!
