Travel Tip Tuesday-Do you have a late flight after you disembark your cruise?

If you do, you have options…

You can get a day room by searching Hotels By Day. This gives you a list of hotels in your area that allow day use.

You can also take a tour which then transfers you to the airport. I did this when I disembarked from my last cruise and it was a relaxing way of seeing a few things and then not stressing about how to get to the airport. It filled the time and got me to the airport in plenty of time…but not overly early which was perfect!

You can always look for options through your cruise company. Not all of them offer these tours at the end of the cruise, but it is worth taking a look.

When I travel solo, I find these excursions to be very safe and easy. It is a way to get to see a few extra things before you have to head home.

One thing I do on sea days as a solo traveller is to find a great spot to relax, have a cocktail and people watch! I do enjoy doing many activities on a sea days but this can entertain me for quite awhile. ☺️

Travel Tip Tuesday-This might go against cruising tradition, but do you need to get off at every port?

Absolutely not!

It’s a complete personal decision and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. For example, I have been to Cabo before in the last year so when my excursion got cancelled, I decided to stay on this ship. This is my first time doing this and I actually love it!!

I had the most relaxing day on the ship. I could visit all the areas with tons of space and freedom to pick wherever I wanted. Spa treatments are much cheaper on port days and the thermal spa has lots of space.

Now if I am at a port I have never been to, then I am going to get off the ship. But there is something to be said for the slow pace of staying on a very empty ship and enjoying all that it has to offer.

We have arrived! Hurricane weather is unpredictable. It wasn’t looking good for Cabo but we arrived and getting ready to tender to shore shortly.

What is it like to cruise during the hurricane season?

Well first and foremost, it is safe. The one rule I would say is that you need to be flexible. Ports might change, weather might not be what you expected…but you are on a cruise and there is so much to do, you will have a blast!

Time on a cruise is better than time at home making your own dinner!

What does a Deluxe Balcony Cabin look like on the Discovery Princess?

It is spacious with LOTS of storage space.
There are lots of outlets and USB outlets by the bedside table.

The washroom is a little bit small but very functional with good storage. The only issue I have with the bathroom is they have shower curtains!! I HATE shower curtains! But the shower itself has been good for me.

I also have to say is that they have good products in the bathroom as well. They have hand soap, body lotion, shampoo/conditioner and body wash. If you like separate conditioner, remember to bring your own.

If you like a spacious balcony, this might not be for you, but I don’t mind it.

All in all, I am very happy with the cabin and I am enjoying it.
