For the food allergy community, a milkshake isn’t just a dessert—it’s a rare win.

Disney remains a gold standard for food allergy accommodations, and that includes the iconic Allergy-Friendly Milkshakes!

Disney’s ability to whip up a dairy-free/allergy-safe shake is a total game changer. Our two favorite spots to grab one of these amazing shakes are Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre in HS The Plaza Restaurant in MK 🏰💙

With that said, ingredients and processes change all the time. You should always ask to speak with a chef and confirm all information on site at the time of ordering.

An important food allergy labeling update you want to know about 🥥👇

The FDA no longer includes coconut on its list of tree nuts considered major food allergens for labeling purposes.

So what does that actually mean?

Coconut will no longer be included in a product’s “Contains” allergen statement simply as a tree nut. It will still be listed in the full ingredients list, this makes reading the full ingredient list especially important for anyone with a coconut allergy.

The FDA’s updated guidance also includes changes aimed at making allergen labels clearer, including more specific identification of milk and egg sources.

🥥 If you have a coconut allergy, this is definitely a labeling change to be aware of.

Salt and Straw ice cream in Disney Springs always has Vegan options available. Look for the “V” on their menu board. They will also open a new container and use a fresh scoop to avoid cross-contamination possibilities if you ask them!

What’s for lunch today?? 😋

It’s a little embarrassing how much I think about this turkey club sandwich we ordered for lunch one day at the Grand Floridian Cafe, completely free of dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame 👌✨

The FAA has proposed a major change to the way emergency medical kits are regulated aboard commercial aircrafts— and there are some important details for travelers with food allergies to understand.

Under the proposal, airlines would still be required to prepare for anaphylaxis, but the FAA would move away from its current list of specifically required medications and equipment toward a more flexible, performance-based standard.

One important distinction: the proposed rule does not specifically require epinephrine auto-injectors, such as EpiPens, or nasal epinephrine.

This is still only a proposal. The FAA is accepting public comments through October 5, 2026, under Docket FAA-2026-9178.

Swipe through for our full breakdown, including what the proposal says, why it matters to the food allergy community, and how you can submit a comment.
