I travel a lot. Which means I’ve learned a lot.

Do I always follow my own advice?

Absolutely not. 😂

But after enough flights, cruises, resorts, missed meals, overpacked suitcases and questionable travel decisions…I’ve developed a few very professional opinions.

So Walt Disney World released their spring promotions, and here are my thoughts….

Don’t automatically take the savings on the vacation you already have booked.

First, look at what that promotion might allow you to upgrade.

Always wanted a Theme Park View room? Check it.

Would Club Level have been just a little too much before? Check it again.

Could you move from a Value to a Moderate, or a Moderate to a Deluxe, and still stay within the budget you originally planned? Explore it.

And don’t just look at your current resort. Broaden the search.

Sometimes a promotion isn’t about spending less.

Sometimes it’s an opportunity to get more vacation for the money you were already comfortable spending.

Of course, saving money is great too. But before I simply apply a discount to an existing reservation, I want to know what else that same budget can get you.

That’s one of the reasons having a travel advisor watching promotions for you matters. A good promotion doesn’t just save you money. It can also make the vacation you really wanted more attainable.

10 houses. Two of them TWICE. 🤡

We purchased a Scream Early ticket AND an Express Pass, and honestly, I think the combination of the two made the night so much more enjoyable.

The Scream Early ticket allowed us to enter the park at 2pm which gave us extra time before HHN officially started. We could enter 3 houses during that time, enjoy some of the food options, and give us a head start on entering the queue for the other houses just before they opened for the night.

We had time for all 10 houses, went through two of them twice, tried some of the themed food and cocktails, enjoyed the scare zones and didn’t feel like we were waiting in lines all night.

Express absolutely helped us accomplish everything, but I underestimated how much I would appreciate simply being there EARLY. Plus let’s face it I’m old…staying up later is a challenge lol

Our favorites:
Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness 🤘
Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control 👻
Downtown Clowntown 🤡

For me, being able to experience everything without huge crowds and long lines was the real win.

Scream Early + Express? I’d absolutely do this combination again.

The robe is calling… 🌴 iykyk

I’m getting ready to visit UNICO 20°87° Riviera Maya and I’m pretty excited to finally experience this one for myself!

A few days of beautiful resorts, amazing food, pool time, site tours and yes… I fully intend to spend some time in one of those iconic UNICO robes. 🤭

I’ll also be taking a peek at the AVA Resort Cancun and Hard Rock Riviera Maya while I’m there, so there will be LOTS to share.

I think Castaway Cay will forever be one of those places that makes me happy the second I step off the ship. 🩵

Maybe it’s the water. Maybe it’s seeing the ship sitting just off the beach. Maybe it’s knowing the hardest decision I have to make all day is whether I want to be IN the water or looking at it. 😂

This was the day I was looking forward to most on our little getaway…and it did not disappoint.

Castaway Cay, you’re still one of my favorites.

Nassau day…but we kept the ship as the main focus. 🚢☀️

🥂 Started with Palo brunch and my favorite dessert
👟 Walked it off with a little time in the Nassau port
💻 tended to a little work because apparently my out-of-office has boundaries 😂
🌏 DVC welcome home gathering
🍹 Ended up back at our favorite spot in The Bayou with our fun new bartender Rock
🍽️ Dinner at 1923 (the best)
🏴‍☠️ And finished the night with Pirate Night and fireworks at sea

No rushing. No trying to squeeze everything in. Just a fun day.

And tomorrow…the day I’ve been waiting for. 🏝️ Castaway Cay!
