Her #1 request wasn’t a ride. It was her husband.

Harry Potter fans heading to Universal and the teens are dying to walk into Diagon Alley. Then Mom quietly said, β€œI’m a little worried he’ll get overwhelmed by the crowds.”

I wrote that down twice.

Overwhelm doesn’t hit all at once. It stacks. The packed bus, the crowded walkways, the noise, the pressure to do it all. By midday, everyone hits a wall.

So I don’t just plan the rides. I plan the calm.

My Universal pick: Sapphire Falls. Your own water taxi to the parks without the Premier price tag. (Aventura is right next door and a quick walk to the boat on most days, if you want to spend a little less.)

β†’ Morning: a quiet boat ride, coffee in hand, while everyone else squeezes onto a bus.

β†’ Add Express Pass: no racing the clock. The teens ride everything. You go with the flow.

β†’ Midday: boat back to a pool that feels like an oasis.

β†’ Evening: head back out rested, not running on fumes.

Two zero-entry pools with a kids’ splash fountain, a resort that still gets you early park admission, and a suite big enough that nobody’s sleeping on top of each other

They say money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy a Disney cruise, and honestly? Close enough.

Not the same as happiness. But not far off either.

I feel much happier now that I have a cruise countdown on my radar!

Booked Pop Century for a runDisney weekend. Easy, budget-friendly, made sense for a race trip.

Then a promo dropped. Same budget, but now a moderate was in reach.

They wanted two things: a real resort-style pool for recovery days, and more dining variety than a race weekend usually allows.

Coronado Springs. The Dig Site has a 50-foot pyramid, a 123-foot jaguar waterslide, and the biggest hot tub at Walt Disney World (fits 22 people). Post-race soak, no notes.

Same budget. Completely different trip.

I still get a little rush when a new promo drops.

Sometimes it’s a straightforward discount ➑️ money back in their pocket, plain and simple.

Sometimes it’s better➑️ every once in a while, the discount lines up just right, and I can find them more value within the same budget, a nicer room or a resort for what they were already planning to spend.

It doesn’t happen for every day, the most in demand rooms have the least room to discount. But when it lines up that’s the best text I send all week.

Working with a travel advisor, gives you permission to not have to worry about these things, set alarms, or stay in the hold cues for hours at a time.

Universal’s Holiday Parade features actual balloons and floats from Macy’s, the same ones you’ve watched on TV every Thanksgiving.

Growing up in New England, this parade was background noise every year. Watching it happen live in the middle of a Florida theme park still doesn’t feel real.

Holidays at Universal kick off November 14 this year, running through January 3.
