To the ones looking at a snowy forecast… and daydreaming about beaches and sunshine, happy first day of winter! ☀️⛄️

Here’s your reminder that you get to create the kind of season your family needs. Maybe that means cozy days at home, or maybe it means planning a trip where the only snowman is made of sand.

Either way, you’re doing beautifully! Let me know when you're ready to make that trip a reality and remember, my services are always free!

Travel can do something everyday life rarely allows:
it removes the noise.

Different surroundings.
Fewer distractions.
More room to actually be together.

That space alone can change the way a family reconnects. 🩵

These small moments, coffee in a quiet car, mattered more than I expected.

They didn’t fix everything, but they reminded me to slow down, breathe deep, and hold onto what is good right in front of us. 🩵

Last week, I found myself sitting in a quiet space, surrounded by quiet, stillness, and exactly what I needed in that moment.

This season of life has highlight that hard seasons don’t cancel out God’s goodness. They often reveal it in quieter ways.

There were moments when slowing down felt necessary, not indulgent.
Moments when being together mattered more than checking every box.
Moments when creating space for laughter and rest felt less like escape and more like trust.

Choosing to make memories, whether through travel or simple time away, isn’t about running from real life.
It’s about believing that joy still belongs in our lives, even when things feel heavy.

I believe God meets families in those moments.
In the car rides.
In shared meals.
In the unplanned conversations that happen when we finally pause long enough to listen.

If this season feels full or overwhelming, I hope you hear this:
You don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect to experience joy.
You’re allowed to rest.
You’re allowed to laugh.
You’re allowed to make memories, even now.

This year I was reminded that God’s goodness doesn’t disappear in hard seasons, and neither does the gift of togetherness. 🩵

This week, I’m sharing why we still choose to make memories, even when life feels full or heavy.

Some of the sweetest adventures we’ve had this year have happened right here at home, usually in that space between homeschooling lessons, afternoon chores, and real life.

So today, I’m sharing 3 simple, low-prep mini adventures that have become favorites in our home… and might become favorites in yours, too.

1. Around-the-World Snack Night 🗺
2. Storybook Adventure Walk 📚
3. Backyard (or Living Room) Stargazing Night 🌌

None of these take much planning.
None of them require perfect weather, perfect behavior, or a perfect house.
They’re simply ways to slow down, enjoy each other, and create tiny adventures inside an ordinary week.

Because memory-making isn’t about the size of the trip. It’s about the intention behind the moment.

Stick around this week! I’ll be sharing more about our favorite little memory-making adventures, the kind you can create right in your own neighborhood.

Woke up to the first snow of the season! ❄️ 🩵

This week I'm sharing simple ways to create memory-making moments right at home! Cozy, fun, and perfect for the season.

You don't need big plans to build big memories. They don't even require a plane ticket!

Yesterday was full; plates, hearts, conversations, and family.
But today?
Today is the quiet that reminds me what matters most. 🍂

It's the day after the noise.
The day the leftovers become lunch.
The day slippers stay on longer.
And the day we really *feel* the gratitude instead of rushing through it.

This year, the 'day after' means even more to me.
Not because everything is perfect, but because we get to be here, together, making memories in big ways and small ways.
And honestly?
The small ways are the ones my heart holds onto most. 🩵

If today finds you un the slow, sacred in-between...
You're right where you need to be.

Happy Thanksgiving Friends

Here are two little traditions we love...
🦃 The wishbone after the meal.
🥧 During dessert, everyone shares one favorite memory from the past year, big or small.
✨ ️It sparks great conversations and memory after memory! It's the sweetest way to end the day.

I'd love to hear one of your favorite family memories from this year. Share one in the comments!

A little peek into one of our favorite trips from this past year.

This memory makes me smile and reminds me why I'm passionate about helping families make more moments like this.

What's a memory that still brings you joy?

As Thanksgiving week begins, my heart keeps circling back to one thing:
Gratitude — the quiet kind that sits underneath the chaos, the grief, and the everyday noise.

The last 12 months have taken our family through valleys I never expected.
We said goodbye to my dad.
We said goodbye to my mother-in-law just weeks later.
And only a few months after those losses, my husband suffered a TBI from a work injury. One that, as bad as it was, could have been much worse.

It’s been a year of deep breaths, tearful prayers, slow healing, and choosing gratitude when it felt like the hardest choice in the world.
But even in the hardest chapters… we are still here.
Our kids still laugh.
My husband is still recovering.
Our home is still full of love.
And I refuse to take a single moment of that lightly.

This is the reason Heart & Horizon Travel exists.
Not travel for travel’s sake.
But the belief that the time we have with the people we love is sacred, and the memories we make become part of our family’s story forever.

This year has reminded me that tomorrow is never promised.
But the moments we make today?
Those can last a lifetime.

I’m grateful for every memory we’ve made in the middle of this difficult season.
And I’m grateful for the privilege of helping other families make theirs.

This Thanksgiving, my heart is full.
Not because life is easy… but because life is precious.

If you’re holding your family a little tighter this year, you’re in good company. 🩵
