As Thanksgiving week begins, my heart keeps circling back to one thing:
Gratitude — the quiet kind that sits underneath the chaos, the grief, and the everyday noise.
The last 12 months have taken our family through valleys I never expected.
We said goodbye to my dad.
We said goodbye to my mother-in-law just weeks later.
And only a few months after those losses, my husband suffered a TBI from a work injury. One that, as bad as it was, could have been much worse.
It’s been a year of deep breaths, tearful prayers, slow healing, and choosing gratitude when it felt like the hardest choice in the world.
But even in the hardest chapters… we are still here.
Our kids still laugh.
My husband is still recovering.
Our home is still full of love.
And I refuse to take a single moment of that lightly.
This is the reason Heart & Horizon Travel exists.
Not travel for travel’s sake.
But the belief that the time we have with the people we love is sacred, and the memories we make become part of our family’s story forever.
This year has reminded me that tomorrow is never promised.
But the moments we make today?
Those can last a lifetime.
I’m grateful for every memory we’ve made in the middle of this difficult season.
And I’m grateful for the privilege of helping other families make theirs.
This Thanksgiving, my heart is full.
Not because life is easy… but because life is precious.
If you’re holding your family a little tighter this year, you’re in good company. 🩵
