Some places stay with you. Morocco did with me!

I traveled through Morocco in 2022 and certain moments have remained remarkably vivid—the colors, the architecture, the markets, the landscapes, and the way the light could completely change what was in front of me.

In August 2027, I’m going back and would love for you to join me!

This time, Chad Byerly Photography and I will be hosting a small group together for:

Morocco Through the Lens
Culture, Color & the Sahara
August 26 – September 11, 2027

We’ll travel from Casablanca and the blue streets of Chefchaouen through Fes and the Atlas Mountains, into Marrakech and across to the Sahara before finishing among the villages of the High Atlas.

Photography will be part of how we experience Morocco, so bring your camera. Bring your phone. Or simply bring the curiosity to look a little closer.

We’ve also included a pre-night in Casablanca, a sunrise hot-air-balloon experience in Marrakech, a pre-arranged departure transfer, and all gratuities so more of the journey is already taken care of.

Our complete hosted group is limited to 12 travelers, including Chad and me, leaving just 10 spaces for you and your friends to join us.

✈️ International Travel Reminders: A Few Often-Missed Details That Matter

A smooth international trip starts long before the airport. These are a few things travelers are often surprised by—until it’s too late.

1️⃣ Passport validity (not just expiration)
Many countries require your passport to be valid at least six months beyond your return date to the U.S.
✔️ “Not expired” doesn’t always mean “accepted.”

2️⃣ Blank pages & passport condition
Several countries require at least two blank passport pages for entry and exit stamps.
✔️ Torn pages, water damage, loose bindings, or heavy wear can result in denied boarding.

3️⃣ Entry requirements change frequently
Visas, arrival forms, transit rules, and health documentation can change with little notice.
✔️ Past experience does not guarantee current eligibility.

4️⃣ Travel insurance isn’t optional—it’s strategic
Medical care, evacuation, trip interruption, and delays abroad can be costly.
✔️ Medicare does not travel with you internationally.

5️⃣ Enroll in STEP
The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) allows the U.S. State Department to contact you with safety updates or assist during emergencies while abroad.

Seattle’s Gum Wall isn’t about the gum.

It’s about texture, repetition, and atmosphere — layers built over time, lit by dim bulbs and framed by narrow brick alleys. I leaned into the darkness here, letting the light guide your eye down the corridor and pull you into the scene.
