This is the closest we have been to The Four Seasons Yacht Club, in the lobby of The Four Seasons Orlando. 😆

But hey, when we see a cruise ship, no matter the size, we notice!

We can almost spot 👩🏻‍✈️ in the bridge and the addition of Bug 😻in the wall mural!

In the spirit of Derek Zoolander, “What is this? A cruise ship for ants? The real ship has to be…three times bigger than this!” 😂

But in all seriousness, even the model looks beautiful!

Sailing into Savannah, GA on American Cruise Lines (ACL) coastal catamaran Liberty was romantic. Cocktails (all drinks are included with ACL), balcony views and the perfect warmth from golden hour.

Don’t sleep on $1 oysters 🦪 during happy hour when you are in Savannah, GA during a Sea Islands cruise aboard a coastal catamaran! We stopped by Sorry Charlies, walking distance from where the ship docked, and we loved our time there, enjoying the spring breeze from the rooftop bar.

And we still made it back to the ship in time for cocktail hour!

We don’t know why there were fireworks in the Charleston harbor the last evening of our Sea Islands coastal cruise. But we do know that the pyrotechnic gods sent them our way for a wonderful treat from our stateroom balcony to finish the trip off right!

How did they know Mikkel loves fireworks and Dan was being the best husband, as usual, to ask, “Are those fireworks I hear outside?”

Why, yes. It was! 🎆

Is cruising the Sea Islands on the East Coast of the U.S. along the Intracoastal scenic? You bet your ass it is!

We are loving the peaceful beauty along the journey aboard American Cruise Lines’ Sea Islands itinerary between South Carolina and Florida, including Georgia.

Scenes from a port stop in Savannah on our Sea Islands cruise itinerary with American Cruise Lines.

This was a favorite stop - not just for us, but for many fellow passengers. We have been here before but it’s such a strikingly gorgeous, southern city that being back is always a thrill.

We walked around the city multiple times, taking in the attractive squares, the Spanish moss covering the trees, and residents and tourists alike happily enjoying the city on perfect spring days.

Less disruption for marine life 🐠 and absolute quiet on the top deck, looking at the pristine landscapes of Scandinavia. 🗻That’s what you can enjoy when you choose to vacation with a cruise line that makes sustainability a priority.

We talked with about his experience sailing with Havila Voyages on its first hybrid, battery-powered ship. He even got to see the batteries in the engine room!

Listen to find out why this matters for your vacation and what it means for the future of cruising.

If you are cruising from Venice (which is very rarely in downtown Venice anymore, rather it’s Chioggia an hour away or Fusina around 30 minutes away) it’s a great excuse to go early and spend a few days in the charmed, aquatic city.

Tourists far outnumber residents there now, but, regardless, the appeal is undeniable. Visiting is like stepping into a fairy tale for a few days.

It’s also somewhat vast and takes time to get around whether on foot, by water taxi or the public vaparetto, so we recommend at least two nights and two days if not three of each pre-cruise.
