It's official: we were acquired by Linktree !!

We'll be leveraging the core tech that powers Songlink/Odesli to build out music sharing features for artists on Linktree. First step is Music Link (which launched recently):

This feature connects fans with musicians by giving them a place to see everywhere the artist’s music is streaming, and even play a preview.

What's up universe?

We wanted to know: how do you use our analytics dashboard? Would a Facebook pixel be a better solution?

Currently our analytics data help you track: clicks by platform, top countries, top cities, and traffic sources. The dashboard displays the metrics for 1 day, 7 days, and 30 days. Storing and rendering this data costs us (a boatload of) $$$ and we wanted to know if a Facebook pixel would be a better solution for you and us?

We've gotten some requests from users who want to add their Facebook Pixel to their Odesli page. For those who aren't familiar, a Facebook Pixel collects data of the users who visit or interact with a web page, allowing you to build targeted audiences for future ads and target fans who have already clicked on your link.

Let us know if this is a win-win solution!

What's up universe?

A key feature of Odesli: managing a single page over time. On the old Songlink platform, many artists got used to releasing a song or album, finding its smart link on our platform, and sharing that link. Then for their next release they would do the same thing.

Then in between releases, they'd share links to other destinations, like merch or shows or videos.

With Odesli, you can manage a single page and do all of this over time. New release? Add it to the page, and all the automated links will populate. Want to add links to your merch and tickets? Do it. Have a new release? Change the song and the matches will all automatically update.

The prettiest part is you can take advantage of our personalizable domains, like artist.link. So you can share all this at a URL like artist.link/adele.

What's up universe?

Building Odesli/Songlink into a sustainable, profitable business has been challenging. With our recent release of a bunch of features and steady growth in traffic, our costs have increased but our revenue is slow to follow. The new customization and subscription platform, which we plan to promote better in the coming months, will help.

But it might not be enough. 😔 We've been brainstorming ideas about how to monetize the traffic to our site, most of which comes from our free, automated pages.

Our ideas: on these free, automated pages we place advertisements for products we genuinely endorse.

If you're a power user and you'd like to remove the ads from a page you're sharing, all you'd have to do is log in/sign up and clone the page. This cloned, customizable page would be ad-free! You can then also take advantage of our free and/or paid customization features, like adding links and using a personalized domain and URL.

Let us know your thoughts: should we add ads? Or are they a bad fad that will make you a tad mad?

We recently fixed a bug with our search bar. If you pasted in a URL, we had been redirecting to odesli.co/song/... or odesli.co/album/... instead of song.link/... or album.link/...

We've fixed this so we're now landing you on the relevant domains song.link and album.link! 💪

What's up universe?

Wanted to thank you for your support before, during, and after our transition from "Songlink" to "Odesli". This decision was not made lightly and it's necessary for us as we grow.

We've gotten some negative feedback, so wanted to clarify: though we're no longer called "Songlink", the song.link domain hasn't gone anywhere!!! All previous song.link URLs still work exactly as before, and all song pages are still being rendered at the song.link domain.

And now song.link is joined by album.link for albums! 😍 And we've also made artist.link domain available as a custom domain if you create a customizable premium page. 💪
