According to the initial 19-page court filing : “Defendants (PVPUSD) knew or should have known Mr. Poe posed a danger to Plaintiffs and other children. Despite their knowledge,Defendants failed to take reasonable steps to protect Plaintiffs from the danger of being s*xually
abused by Garry Poe. As a result, Mr. Poe was able to use his position as a teacher and employee with Defendants to repeatedly s*xually abuse Plaintiffs

PVPUSD sanctioned sordid teacher-student s*xcapades on senior Europe trips since 1967. Garry Poe, former Peninsula/Rolling Hills HS English teacher/coach/admitted pe*****le & s*xual predator said it was “common knowledge” teachers had s*x with students and even married them. As a PVHS student, I heard about Jim Dimitriou. Coach Flagler. And of course I knew all about Garry Poe, who was the English dept chair during my tenure there. The hyper-s*xualized old boys crony club ran afoul of me early on. Poe was my supervisor. He was my bff’s s*xual abuser, and serial predator. The district denies responsibility—even former principal Kelly Johnson — knew about Poe’s “ho’s”— his silence is complicit. And what about former district admin John Bowes, now superintendent of Manhattan Beach unified? How much did he know when he silenced victims’ voices? Chris Bowles? Mitzi Cress? Pat Corwin? MEET RUFUS.

He's black. And it's Friday.

He's my handsome, polite and rescued four-year-old canine kid, and lovingly patient in a way NONE of my ex husbands have ever been. (Usually, the aforementioned males must be drunk for even expeditious and perfunctory shop stops.)

Rufus is a loyal show-stopper & conversation starter.

What bothered me most about “Challenge Day” and other compulsory team-building activities is the hypocrisy of it all — the motivational posters promoting empathy, kindness and “being the change” — followed by an immediate return to standard, lame behavior: talking trash and being fake, rude, intimidating and mean.
