Last night was a masterclass in why patience should be considered essential travel gear.🥴 This is your friendly heads-up that we are well into the season of "your itinerary is more of a suggestion." Spring and summer storms across the South and much of the U.S. are real, they are unpredictable, and they do not care about your connection window......which I hope has some padding built into it.

Storms rolled through the DFW area, and the ripple effect was something else. Ground stops, diversions, gate holds. A couple of travelers were rerouted to Tulsa and decided that a rental car and a road trip to DFW made more sense than the overnight stay American Airlines wanted them to take. (I have been that ready to be home, too)

Others were connecting through DFW on flights originating from Fayetteville, Arkansas, where control tower issues caused significant delays, backing everything up for hours. The last person I'm aware of finally reached their destination at 1:30 in the morning. I'm still excited the flight crew didn't time out, because honestly, that's what I was preparing for.

Add the FIFA World Cup into the mix, with matches kicking off in just a few weeks across multiple U.S. host cities. Airports are going to be busy in ways that make a normal summer travel day look calm.😭

➡️Here is what I always tell people: pack patience first, then pack everything else. If you have checked luggage, put a change of clothes and some basic toiletries in your carry-on. Not because you expect things to go sideways, but because being the prepared person in the gate area is a much better feeling than being the person hunting for a toothbrush at the hotel at midnight. Ask me how I know......

You are going on vacation. A delay is an inconvenience, not a disaster.....I promise. Breathe, find the nearest airport bar or coffee counter, and remember that you will get there.....eventually.🫣

Happy Summer, and may the odds be ever in your favor......or at least have a travel advisor (or mom) that stays up stalking flights until you finally make it where you're going! ✌️😂

Nothing says vacation like white-knuckling it down unfamiliar roads and a parking spot, or a tank of gas may cost more than a night in your hotel room. 🫣😭😂

There's a better way to vacation.
Someone else is doing the driving. You're watching the scenery go by from a comfortable seat, whether that's the back roads of New England in the fall, wine country in California, the coast of Ireland, or the hills of Tuscany. A good guide does more than move you from stop to stop. They're the reason you leave feeling like you actually know a place rather than just having checked it off a list.

If you want that immersive, unhurried experience without the stress of navigating it alone, this might be for you. A guided tour if you enjoy the social side of travel, or a small group or private driver if you'd rather not travel with a lot of other people, or looking for a more personalized trip but don't want to drive.
➡️Same local expertise
➡️Same freedom from logistics

If you'd rather let someone else do the driving on your next vacation, send me a message or email, and let's talk.

Just because I haven't posted about it doesn't mean I don't book it. 😎

One of the most common things I hear is "I didn't know you booked that." Yeah, that's on me for not saying it sooner. I tend to post about the brands I work with most often or the ones that get the most requests, but that's just a small fraction of what's out there.

If you have a resort, cruise line, hotel, or travel experience in mind and you're not sure whether it's something I can help with, just ask. If it's a quality property or a reputable brand, there's a very good chance the answer is yes. I work across a wide range of options, from premium resorts and cruise lines to higher-end boutique properties, and I'm not limited to the handful of brands that show up in my posts.

I want to add that I focus on properties and suppliers that meet a certain standard. Not because I'm trying to be exclusive about it, but because my job is to send people somewhere worth going, and that means working with suppliers I can stand behind.

So if you've been holding back on reaching out because you weren't sure if your travel idea fits what I do, it probably does. Send me a message or email, and let's find out. ✈️🛳️

Somewhere between the flowers and the brunch reservations, there's a mom who has a trip saved on her phone that she hasn't let herself book yet. 💐

Maybe it's a Caribbean cruise she's been eyeing. A river cruise through Europe she keeps coming back to. Or a destination she's mentioned more than once that nobody has taken seriously enough to actually plan.

This year, that trip could be her gift. A gift certificate towards planning her next vacation is the kind of gift that shows she is appreciated, and her daily sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

If you want to give her something she'll genuinely be excited about, reach out today and let's put something together. 🌺

Twelve years. Hundreds of trips. And the thing I'm most proud of has nothing to do with destinations.

Nobody hands a stranger their vacation plans without a little bit of faith. Over the past 12 years, a lot of people have put that faith in me, and I've never stopped being grateful for it. Not every trip is perfect. Travel rarely is. But having someone in your corner who knows your booking, knows what you paid for, and will fight for you when things go sideways? That's what this is built on.

Today is Global Travel Advisor Day, and while I appreciate the recognition from my travel partners, I'm not here to talk about me. I'm here to say thank you to every client, past and present, who trusted me enough to say "handle it." You're the reason this is still worth doing after 12 years. 🫶🏼

If you've never worked with a travel advisor and you're curious what that actually looks like, I'd love to chat with you. Message or email, and let's set up a time to talk.

Tacos, tequila, and a travel promotion. Name a better Tuesday. I'll wait. 🌮

It's Taco Tuesday, Cinco de Mayo, National Small Business Week, AND Travel Advisor Appreciation Month.
Somewhere, a travel advisor is using all of that as an excuse to post a promotion. That travel advisor is me. 😏

Now through May 10th, say the word ADVISOR when you contact me and get 50% off planning fees for your next trip. Individual bookings only, group trips excluded.

You bring the tacos and tequila. I'll handle the trip planning. Message or email me and let's talk!🤗

Your vacation dollars have a choice. They can go to a faceless website, or they can stay right here and work for both of us.🤷🏼‍♀️

May is a big month around here, and not just because summer travel season is heating up. This week is National Small Business Week, and all of May is Travel Advisor Appreciation Month. As a locally owned, one-woman travel agency that has been operating right here since 2014, those two things feel pretty connected to me.🫶🏼

When you book through Outta Here Travels, you're not sending your money to a corporate call center. You're working with someone local, someone you can actually reach, and someone who has a real stake in making your trip go well. And in most cases, using a travel advisor costs you nothing extra out of pocket. The commission in your trip price exists whether you book with me, an online agency, or a 1-800 number. The only difference is who keeps it. (Me!)

This week, I'll focus on what a reputable travel advisor does and how I can help you with your next trip. There will also be a discount code available and the possibility of a giveaway later this month.
