Den Haag might just be the Netherlands’ best-kept secret.

Everyone talks about Amsterdam, but Den Haag felt like a quieter kind of magic.

Elegant streets. Historic passageways. Beautiful architecture around every corner. A city that feels refined without trying too hard. We stayed in Den Haag and spent the day simply walking, taking it in slowly, stopping for good food, lingering in beautiful spaces, and letting the city reveal itself one street at a time.

What I loved most is that it doesn’t feel performative. It feels lived in. Sophisticated, but grounded. There’s beauty here, yes—but also ease. A sense of rhythm. A softness that invites you to slow down and notice more.

From lunch tucked behind that beautiful red awning at La Liguria to wandering through De Passage and finding those grand European details you can’t help but stop and admire, today reminded me that some places don’t need to shout to leave an impression.

Den Haag surprised me in the best way.

And honestly, that may be the real luxury of travel—finding the places that still feel a little undiscovered, a little more personal, and deeply worth your time.

Delft was one of those places that quietly stays with you.

I’m honored to be heading to the Netherlands for the IRPT European Summit and to be supporting this client over the next 10 days as they gather with leaders across the Inland Rivers, Ports & Terminals sector. From The Hague to Amsterdam, port visits to curated cultural experiences, this itinerary has been thoughtfully designed to support both the business purpose of the trip and the overall experience of being there.
