We are professional "Dirt Diggers" in the Park City area. We enjoy bringing professionalism, technology, innovation and ambition into "digging dirt".

Scott Schofield Construction Inc. is a company I started in June of 1998 as a General Contracting company building custom homes in the mountains of Park City. Having a background in excavation for such homes I naturally preformed the excavation work on my own. Soon I learned that it is the hardest sub-trade in the construction industry to accurately bid and estimate costs along with creating accur

ate time lines. Before long my greater love for playing in the dirt far outweighed my desire to build luxury homes and I changed the company to strictly Excavation. In doing so, I knew the needs of the local contractors through my own experiences and made it our specialty to be able to cater to and help local contractors be the best contractors they can be though quality, professional excavation. Since then we have incorporated 2 GOS survey stations and smart dig systems to check the layout as we dig rather than afterwords when its too late. We also have 2 different bidding software programs that build existing and proposed 3-D models of your site...overlaying the two to give exact cut, fill, and import/export quantities taking the guess work out of excavation and allowing us to quote "hard" bids even for rock hammering or chipping. We like to refer to ourselves as the "Go To Guys" meaning we are there when we say we will be there, we get the job done in a timely manner staying full days not leaving for "other" jobs and sticking it out until the job is finished, no matter what complications arise. This project represents one of the largest residential excavations our team has managed to date. Because of the scale, we implemented specialized bank reinforcement to ensure site stability and crew safety throughout the process.

This wasn't a standard dig; it required meticulous planning and a higher level of technical ex*****on to get the foundation right. Proud of the team for the precision on this one!

We’re on-site at our latest project, transitioning a homeowner’s rock retaining walls into concrete retaining walls for added strength, modern design, and the creation of more flat spaces in tight areas.

While natural stone has its look, nothing beats the structural integrity and longevity of reinforced concrete when it comes to holding back the mountain.

These concrete walls are also much thinner without slope from bottom of the wall to top of wall. This creates larger graded areas for yards, planters, or any other architectural features desired!

The photos show the clean slate after the rock removal and eventual wall pour. Precision at this stage is everything!

Another rock wall project by Rufino!

This is a large-scale rock wall designed to handle serious grade change while bringing a strong, finished look to the property. Multi-tier walls like this take coordination, the right equipment, and an operator who knows how to build for long-term performance.

Aging underground infrastructure doesn’t fix itself, so it eventually has to be replaced.

Our crew recently took on a full mainline replacement, installing 2,500 feet of new water line along with updated fire hydrants and laterals. The original ductile iron pipe had done its job for decades, but corrosion from road salt and time had taken its toll.

This type of work is one of our specialties. We’ve handled many full replacement projects like this, and it comes down to having the right crews, the right equipment, and the experience to keep things moving efficiently for total mainline replacements.
