Looking for a deal?

Friday night lights to Saturday morning flights. 🏈✈️

Before I worked in travel, I spent almost 18 years as a stay-at-home mom. My life revolved around the kids, their schedules and being there for everything. I wouldn’t change a minute of it.

I still struggle with missing things. With three kids still in in sports and one off to college, there is ALWAYS something. I actually changed the dates of this trip so I could miss as little as possible, and then things got rescheduled anyway.

For a long time I think I felt like if I could be there, I should be there and I still do.

But it’s okay to miss things sometimes.

The kids know I’m their biggest supporter. Missing a game doesn’t change that. I’m always there for the big things. And I don’t want to look back and realize I spent all these years waiting for a time when everyone’s schedules were clear, because I’m pretty sure that time is never coming.

We only get one life to live. I want to be there for as many of their moments as I can, but I also want to make the most of my own. (Because I’m getting older too!)

So I watched Friday night football last night and this morning I’m on a plane to Punta Cana for the Showstopper Awards, and I’ll be back in time for Homecoming.

I might miss a few things at home, but I’m going to enjoy this too.

And if you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to take the trip, this is your reminder that there probably isn’t one. Go anyway. Make the memories. You only get one life. Thank goodness for livestreams!

Think you’re booking too early??

A few months ago, a family reached out about booking their spring break trip. We found a great option that fit their budget and booked it. They wondered if they were booking too early.

Today I priced the exact same trip for the exact same dates. It’s now $5,000 more.

Can you find a great last-minute deal sometimes? Absolutely. But when you’re traveling during peak periods like spring break, booking early can make a huge difference.

I’m currently booking all of 2027 and even into 2028 for river cruises, ocean cruises and popular resorts. Many trips can be secured with a relatively low deposit, giving you plenty of time to make payments along the way.

If you know you want to travel, you don’t necessarily need to wait until you’re ready to pay for the entire trip to start planning.

Don’t fall for it!!

When you see a travel “deal” posted that seems too good to be true, take a closer look before you jump on it.

Not all travel advisors operate the same way. Unfortunately, some will advertise an incredible price to get your attention, only for you to find out once you inquire that the trip at that price is “no longer available.”

Sometimes availability really does change quickly. But when it becomes a pattern, or the advertised price was never realistically available to begin with, that’s a red flag.

A reputable travel advisor should be transparent about what the price includes, what dates and availability it is based on, and whether the pricing is actually bookable when it’s advertised.

A great deal is great. A price designed just to get you in the door is something entirely different.

Be careful who you trust with your vacation. Experience matters. Credentials matter. Reviews matter. I’m proud to have all three, and you won’t see me advertising a trip at a price I can’t actually book.
