Hold onto your swimsuits, folks—Lanesboro is making a splash! In partnership with the City of Lanesboro, we're thrilled to announce that as of TODAY the newly constructed Stone Dam Super Slide is open for your enjoyment!

This state-of-the-art, first-of-its-kind, 30-foot waterslide descends gracefully from the top of the historic stone dam into the Root River below, offering a refreshing thrill for visitors and locals alike. Marvel at its seamless fusion of high-speed thrills with local heritage (it’s like time-travel, but wetter!). For over 150 years this historic dam stood as a tranquil backdrop to our charming town, but as of this April 1st, it’s gone from serene to extreme.

“When a group of enthusiastic citizens introduced a petition to fund the Stone Dam Super Slide via referendum last fall, I thought it was a joke," said Lanesboro City Administrator Mitchell Walbridge. "But after the overwhelming vote in favor of the project, it’s clear that the citizens of Lanesboro are ready to embrace bold, innovative projects like the Stone Dam Super Slide. This isn’t just a waterslide—it’s a symbol of our community’s commitment to blending history with adventure. We’re proud to make waves, both literally and figuratively!"

Fun for all ages, this project has brought a new wave of adventure to our charming city. Kids, grown-ups, and the occasional brave squirrel are lining up for their chance to experience the rush. And don’t worry about safety—town historians insist the structure is "as sturdy as an 1800s handshake.”
