Took a refreshing day trip to the charming seaside village of Howth—just a short train ride from Dublin but a world away in tranquility. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the cozy Abbey Tavern, soaking in the local flavors and friendly atmosphere. We also explored the historic St. Mary’s Abbey and its peaceful cemetery, adding a touch of quiet reflection to our adventure. A stroll along the Pier offered stunning coastal views and a breath of fresh sea air. There is also great hiking! If you want to escape the city buzz, Howth is a perfect little getaway full of history, nature, and great food.

WHAT A HIGHLIGHT!!! We immersed ourselves in Dublin’s amazing literary heritage with a guided tour of Trinity College led by a passionate alum. The Book of Kells was absolutely astonishing—a masterpiece of medieval artistry and storytelling—but for me, the real crown jewel was the Long Room library (just look at those books, some 1200 years old... and that barrel vaulted ceiling 😳!!). As a book lover, standing surrounded by centuries of towering bookshelves filled with priceless volumes truly made my heart soar. Walking the same halls and grounds once graced by literary greats like Jonathan Swift, Oscar Wilde, and Samuel Beckett gave me goosebumps.

The library is currently undergoing restoration, and many books have been carefully removed for preservation. The plan is to bring them all back over the next 3 to 5 years, ensuring this breathtaking space continues to inspire generations to come. The Books of Kells will also find a new home and the library will soon be closed, but they do have an Immersive New Interactive Experience on the Campus you can experience.

When you just touchdown in Dublin and you dive straight into an iconic local tradition (after freshening up of course)! The Guinness Storehouse was the perfect welcome to Ireland—learning the craft behind that legendary pint and of course tasting a few - we sat and took in the stunning city views from the Gravity Bar. There’s nothing like that first sip to kick off an unforgettable adventure. Afterwards we wandered and explored on foot from the Liberties area and ate at Brazen Head (Ireland's Oldest Pub), and finished the night with an Irish Coffee in the Temple Bar District!

I couldn't be more excited to be headed to Ireland April 21–29 with my best friend—and while I’ve been to Ireland before, this trip is all about experiencing new corners of Ireland and really soaking in the destination. 🍀

I plan to be fully immersed in exploring, learning, and gathering firsthand experience (it's the best way to help you all). I’ll also be sharing bits of our adventures along the way, so feel free to follow along for some Irish inspiration. ✨

During this time, I will of course be responding to travel emergencies, but all other messages/calls will be returned when I’m back in the office on April 30 in the order, they were received.

Thank you for allowing me the time to explore and learn (and of course have a vacation with my best friend) — I can’t wait to come back inspired and ready to help you plan your own Irish adventure! 💚

🎄✨ Holiday Update from Mixed Luggage Travel Company! ✨🎄

From December 22 through January 1, I’m working a more part time schedule — balancing helping all of you plan amazing vacations and soaking up the holiday spirit with family.

I’ll be completely out of the office between December 24 - 28 (but still responding to urgent travel emergencies).

While I’m around to assist outside those 5 days, response times might be a bit slower than usual. If your travel plans can wait, I’ll make sure to give them my full attention after the holidays. And if it’s urgent, just highlight this in the subject so it grabs my attention!
