🏨 PROPERTY SPOTLIGHT: Congress Hall, Cape May, NJ

I recently toured Congress Hall as part of my ongoing search for the best group retreat and luxury group travel properties — and I have a lot to share.

Quick highlights for my planning brain friends:

SPACES: 5 distinct venues from a 220-person ballroom to a 22-person private dining room. Multiple are divisible with soundproof air walls — essential for retreat programming that blends large group sessions with breakouts or consultations.

ACCESSIBILITY: This one matters. Rolling showers, elevator access to all floors, grab bars, adaptable outdoor spaces, and staff who understand diverse needs. As an OTR/L, I don't just note accessibility features — I assess whether they actually work for real guests. Congress Hall earns it.

DINING: Three venues on property. Breakfast vouchers. Prefix group menus. A basement entertainment space with a meatball station and live band setup. I'm not kidding.

BEST TIMING: May or September for rates and weather. Pool is open through October 11th — so early fall retreats still get the full outdoor experience.
