1. Hurricanes

Hurricane Season: The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November, with the highest risk of hurricanes occurring between August and October.

Risk: While hurricanes can affect the region, they don't always directly hit the Riviera Maya. However, there can be heavy rain, strong winds, and rough seas. It's always a good idea to check weather forecasts and warnings before traveling during these months.

Precautions: Many hotels and resorts in the area are well-prepared for hurricanes, offering refunds or rescheduling options in case of severe weather events.

2. Rain

Rainy Season: May to October is the rainy season in Cancún and the Riviera Maya. During this time, you can expect daily showers or thunderstorms, typically in the late afternoon or evening. These are usually short and intense but can bring humidity and higher temperatures.

Dry Season: November to April is the dry season, with little to no rainfall. This is the best time for sunbathing, outdoor activities, and beach days.

3. Seaweed (Sargassum)

Sargassum is a type of seaweed that has become a significant concern along the Riviera Maya, particularly during the summer and early fall months.

Seasons: The worst months for seaweed are May to September. During this period, seaweed can wash ashore in large quantities, leading to a more unpleasant beach experience and sometimes causing an unpleasant smell.

Efforts: Local authorities and resorts often work to clean the beaches daily, but the amount of seaweed can vary from year to year, so it's hard to predict precisely how much will be present.

Hello everyone 👋
I want to share with you my experience of staying at Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo.

The hotel is located in Riviera Maya and is a part of the Paraiso Complex, that includes Iberostar Paraiso Beach, Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar (guests of Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo can use all the amenities of these hotels), Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites (higher level) and Iberostar Grand Paraiso (adults only).
The hotel complex is huge. Cars are running on the territory of the hotels and between the hotels.
🎠There is also a shopping center on the complex, there is a carousel and an outdoor playground.
The kids club accepts children from 4 years old. The kids club has its own outdoor playground. Keep in mind that you will not be able to play with the child (my son is 2 years old, so I couldn't leave him there, and I was not allowed come in with him either).

Let's move on to Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo hotel.
🛝The hotel has a water park for adults as well as for small kids.
🛎 Service: there were no complaints, everyone is ready to help)
Room service is available from 11am to 11pm. It has not much variety, but if necessary, you could choose something for the kids.
🌊Beach: the beach is well-kept, never overcrowded. There were waves on the beach, but we were not bored, the children liked spending time at the lazy river and water park.
There are water sports on the beach. We didn't use it.
On the way to the beach, we always met nasuas.
🥑Food: The selection of food in the buffet is very good, the food is good, everything was fresh. The buffet even served lobsters 🦞
🍽Restaurants: there is good choice of the restaurants. We visited 4: Mexican at Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo, Under the Sea, French, and Brazilian (at Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar). We didn't really like French and Brazilian (they have a standard menu, the guest has no choice).
🦚 Animals: on the territory of the hotel, as I already mentioned, there are nosuas, there is also a peacock walking, we saw an iguana. On the territory of the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar hotel, we enjoyed watching flamingos and black swans 😍😍😍
