You may have heard that Gov. Josh Shapiro proposed new funding for SEPTA in his budget address last week, and that SEPTA has pledged not to cut services or increase fares.
This is, of course, welcome news — and a testament to the power we hold as engaged citizens and community members. Shapiro heard us. But we can’t stop now.
Over the next few months, we’ll need to keep raising our voices to fight for public transit as the budget gets voted on by the state. This is NOT a done deal.
Here’s what you can do:
Take SEPTA. Increasing ridership across the system is critical to make a case for maintaining service and, eventually, increasing frequency. Tag us in your rides 🤩
Tell your friends. Share this post, invite them to our upcoming events or send them to SavetheTrain.org to sign up for email updates.
Fund our efforts. Every dollar given goes straight to advancing this important advocacy. Link in the bio to donate.
Put up a yard sign or window poster. Take one for you — and some for your neighbors — available at 258 W. Gorgas Lane.
