Happy 55 to the Happiest Place on Earth!🎉
Recently I met someone who was pretty well there when the Magic Kingdom first opened. Entry was free, but each attraction required its own ticket. Fun fact- if anyone shows up at Disney with these tickes they wil honour them!
And then what the future holds--- While I'm nostagic and don't want much to change (other than Autotopia... that needs to go), the recent changes and what they have imagineered looks pretty magical!
I can't wait until January when I can finally get back: there's always something new to do (and eat) ☀

Two very different ships. Two very different adventures. And I’ll be onboard both — and you’re invited! ☀️

March 20–28, 2027 | Norwegian Pearl
Roundtrip from Philadelphia to the Bahamas — sunshine, good company, and a fun escape from the winter. And for my Philly friends: no flights required!

May 22–29, 2027 | Seabourn Ovation
Athens to Istanbul — Crete, Mykonos, Ephesus and more, aboard one of my favorite ultra-luxury small ships. Nearly everything is included, the service is exceptional, and the ports are iconic.

Come sail with me (and Derrick) — whether your version of joy is cocktails in the Bahamas or caviar in the Mediterranean, we’ve got you.

Just ask this guy. 😉

Finding the Pride and the connection at . Nexion Travel Group ‘s annual conference has changed for me over the years: while I’m still learning and catching up on the travel trends, I value the relationships with peers, leaders and partners: it’s a gift. I hosted our 2nd Annual Travel with Pride mixer at Oilcan Harry's promoting Equality Texas and OutYouth, champions doing the work in the local community, while asking our industry to advocate more and do more for the LGBTQ+ community. We brought in delicious food from q***r owned Patika and Mexican owned ONETACO. Taquería. We expected around 60 guests and we grew to almost 100 (that’s about 1/6 of the entire conference!! 🥸). I met a longhorn named Chuck and cuddled with Harry the unicorn. I had the opportunity to co-lead a workshop called the Allyship Itinerary to inspire and help advisors become more inclusive with their business start to end 🌈.
To good friends and new friends, the high fives and deep hugs, Texas is many things and I am grateful we made it a little bouncier and brighter.
To our (my) friends at United Airlines Bedsonline, Carnival Cruise Line Royal Caribbean Celebrity Cruises Azamara Cruises Cunard Hyatt Inclusive Marriott Bonvoy G Adventures and ALG Vacations : thank you for standing with us and with pride 🏳️‍🌈.

I’m taking a beat to rest and then let’s get you out on your next adventure! 🏰 🎢 🚢 ✈️ ☀️

Gettysburg was surprising in so many ways. Going in despite my brief moment in high school as a civil war reenactor, I knew nothing about this battle nor the town. I was humbled by the history as we wandered the field and grounded in the loss (everyone loses in war). We may be haunted by some friendly ghosts from our numerous 👻 tours. We stole the Gburg address via Escape Gettysburg. We made friends at the The Sign of the Buck. We toured and ate way too much at the Dobbin House Tavern.
And we were delighted at how q***r-friendly it was: Rainbows and flags and art at businesses and in home windows. We stayed at the charming and beautiful gay-owned Olinger House Bed and Breakfast. Even the deer heads were adored in a rainbow wreath at the town bar.

It’s often a fair assumption that small town USA might not be safe (or full of rainbows) 🇺🇸 🏳️‍🌈. As a gay traveler, an American wartown might not be top of the list. Thank you Destination Gettysburg for surprisingly us in such a way and making us feel so welcomed and thanks mom for getting us that horse tour 🐎 for Christmas.

We loved it. To the Union!

🌈 Proud to Be

For travel advisor Mike Plumton, Pride is about authenticity, visibility, and believing people when they tell you who they are.

"Just as people inherently know they're straight, I know I'm gay."

Mike reminds us that LGBTQIA+ people aren't a niche. They are travelers, business owners, colleagues, friends, and family members who deserve to feel seen, supported, and welcomed wherever they go.

Thank you, Mike, for sharing your perspective and helping us celebrate Pride Month through understanding, acceptance, and visibility.
