We facilitate fun, authentic, instructional and recreational guided outdoor adventure experiences mostly in eastern Pennsylvania including rock climbing + rappelling, recreational kayaking, winter waterfall ice hikes and snowshoeing trips. Valley to Summit is headquartered in Philadelphia and has a mission to provide an environment the facilitates the exploration and development of an outdoor ethi

c through interaction with nature. To help us achieve this mission, we provide guided wilderness adventures from day hikes, backpacking trips, canoe, kayaking, whitewater rafting adventures, rock climbing trips and other outdoor recreation activities including Clydesdale horseback riding. In addition, we welcome requests for custom private trips. The overall goal is to facilitate people getting outdoors and recreating in a responsible manner that protects the environment while simultaneously enhancing people's interactions with nature.

What an amazing day with some incredible climbers, despite the heat, at Chickies on Saturday. Everyone did awesome under the perfect blue sky with plenty of rests and lots of water! We hope to see all of these climbers back out on the rock in the very near future.

We had an amazing family come out with us yesterday for a private Intro to Outdoor Rock Clmbing at Donation Rocks. They have all done a little climbing in a gym but this was their first experience on real rock and they all did an incredible job. The family was an absolute blast to guide and i really hope to see them again in the very near future! Donation is our newest area and has some of the best sandstone rock in the area. What an amazing day with some incredible climbers at Chickies today. Everyone did awesome under the perfect blue skie.it was just the perfect day to be out on the rock!We hope to see all of these climbers back out on the rock in the very near future.

On May 25th we had perfect weather for these two amazing climbers for a private day climbing at Chickies Rock. It was an incredibly fun day and they both did a fantastic job. We hope to see both climbers back out on the rock in the very near future.

Sunday we had perfect weather for an amazing family of climbers for a private day climbing at Chickies Rock. It was everyone's first time climbing on natural rock and they all did a fantastic job. We hope to see all of these climbers back out on the rock in the very near future.

We opened up our rock climbing season last Saturday at Donation Rocks. We had an amazing group and fantastic weather for the first Intro to Outdoor Rock Clmbing of the season. About half the guide team, but this group of professionals performed at their top to make yesterday’s sold out ice hiking program go without a hitch!!! From 7:30am-5:00pm, they braved the -5 windchill and delivered exceptional experiences to all the awesome clients. They are at it again today and will be for the remainder of the season, but tipping the hat at them is what’s it stall about. Thank you!!!

On Sunday we ran our first Hikes of the season. The winter storm that came through Friday and Saturday brought 8" of fresh snow to Ricketts Glen making amazing winter scenery. The ice is beginning to form which is going to make this season and incredible one for the Winter Waterfall Ice Hikes.

If you’d like to explore the icy waterfalls, trails and landscape of Ricketts Glen, join us this winter for a guided ice hike.
