TIPS FOR NEW CRUISERS:
Hope this is helpful. Let me know.
1. When planning your cruise, select a room on the highest level possible, center or near center of the ship. This will give you the smoothest cruise. The lower the floor and off center of the ship, the more movement will be felt.
2. Schedule your evening dining for “Anytime Dining”. This will prevent you from rushing back to ship to make your dinner appointment time.
3. Go to Guest Services or the Casino to get your Sign and Sail card hole punched and place on a lanyard. This will help keep your card secure from loss.
4. Read your Daily Bulletin. It is a single source for all on board activities and coupons for in port shopping. Guest Services can post your onboard Group meetings and activities at no additional cost in the Bulletin.
5. Cell Phone Users: Don’t forget to turn off your “Mobile Data” to prevent roaming charges. Use local WIFI off the ship to make calls, video calls and send messages through Face Book Messenger free.
6. Ship rooms are typically small, so store your luggage bags under your bed.
7. The day of the week changes every day on the elevator’s floor. Look down, it will always be the current day.
8. Limit your gambling to your front pocket money. Place what you can afford to lose in your front pocket. When it is gone, quit. If you are winning, pick a time to quit while you are ahead and quit. DO NOT GAMBLE ON YOUR SIGN AND SAIL CARD OR CREDIT CARD. You have been warned.
9. Spa Packages go on sale one to two days before the cruise ends. Prices will drop as much as 50%. Send your lady to the spa without wrecking your budget.
10. Ship stores, especially clothes, jewelry and pictures will go on sale one to two days before the cruise ends. The best time to get those last-minute souvenirs.
11. Excursions can be negotiated and purchased at the port much less than on the ship. Ship purchased excursions come with a guarantee you will not be left at port for returning late.
12. Carry lots of small bills for buying souvenirs locally in port. It is harder to get a bargain if you have large bills. The locals may give you change in their local currency.
