✈️ IMPORTANT TRAVEL UPDATE Starting Nov 7
The FAA + DOT just ordered airlines to cut about 10 percent of flights at 40 major US airports because of the government shutdown and air-traffic–controller shortages.
This is a safety measure, NOT a panic moment, but if you’re flying soon, expect things to shift day by day.
Here’s what to know:
✅ If your flight is impacted, your airline will notify you
✅ Long-haul international + hub-to-hub flights won’t be affected
✅ Refunds are available for anyone traveling during this window (even if you booked Basic Economy)
✅ Most changes will be made on a day-by-day basis, not weeks in advance
The 40 airports affected include: ATL, BOS, BWI, CLT, CVG, DAL, DCA, DEN, DFW, DTW, EWR, FLL, HNL, HOU, IAD, IAH, IND, JFK, LAS, LAX, LGA, MCO, MDW, MEM, MIA, MSP, OAK, ONT, ORD, PDX, PHL, PHX, SAN, SDF, SEA, SFO, SLC, TEB, TPA + ANC
But this will have ripple effects across the US.
🧳 My advice:
Turn on airline-app notifications, track your flights, and stay flexible.
If you want me to look at your flights, even if you didn’t book with me, send me a DM.
I’ll be monitoring all of this closely.
Travel isn’t stopping. We’ve just got to navigate it a little smarter this week. 💛
