CRUISING FROM MIAMI? IMPORTANT CHANGES ARE COMING TO PORTMIAMI!

If you're sailing out of Miami in 2026 or 2027, there's something you'll want to know before heading to the cruise terminal!

PortMiami, the Cruise Capital of the World, is preparing for an incredibly busy cruise season. In fact, officials expect 81 days when SEVEN TO TEN cruise ships will be in port on the same day!

That's a LOT of passengers coming and going, so PortMiami is introducing new traffic-management measures to help reduce congestion and make embarkation day a little smoother.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

YOUR CRUISE TERMINAL DETERMINES WHICH ENTRANCE TO USE!

PORTMIAMI TUNNEL:
Cruise Terminals AA, A, B, C and D

PORTMIAMI BRIDGE:
Cruise Terminals E, F, G, J and V

ARRIVE AT YOUR ASSIGNED EMBARKATION TIME!

PortMiami is emphasizing that guests should arrive at their scheduled boarding check-in time rather than showing up hours early. Arriving too early can contribute to congestion around the terminals.

NEW AIRPORT TRANSFER OPTIONS!

PortMiami is also working with cruise lines to help manage traffic, including complimentary airport shuttle pilot programs for select Carnival Celebration and Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas sailings.

These transfers are only available on select dates and are not a standard inclusion for every sailing.

MY ADVICE?

Don't leave your embarkation-day transportation to chance!

Confirm your cruise terminal before departure, know which entrance to use, and make sure your transportation is arranged in advance.

And whenever possible, I recommend arriving in Miami at least one day before your cruise. It's one of the easiest ways to avoid unnecessary stress from flight delays or cancellations.

SOUTHWEST RAPID REWARDS IS GETTING A MAJOR MAKEOVER!

Big changes are coming to Southwest Airlines in 2027, including an entirely new loyalty program with three membership tiers!

Starting January 1, 2027, Southwest is replacing its current A-List and A-List Preferred structure with three tiers: Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Here's a look at what's coming:

SILVER — Replaces A-List
- Earn status with 35,000 qualifying points or 25 qualifying flights
- Preferred or Standard seat selection at booking, when available
- One free checked bag
- Group 1 boarding
- 40% bonus points on qualifying flights

GOLD — Replaces A-List Preferred
- Earn status with 65,000 qualifying points or 50 qualifying flights
- Complimentary Extra Legroom seating, when available
- Two free checked bags
- Priority boarding ahead of Group 1
- 60% bonus points on qualifying flights

PLATINUM — A Brand-New Elite Tier
- Earn status with 140,000 qualifying points or 100 qualifying flights
- Complimentary Extra Legroom seating, when available
- Three free checked bags
- 120% bonus points on qualifying flights
- Additional Companion Pass benefits

AND THERE'S MORE!

Southwest is also introducing new milestone rewards, expanded international airline partnerships, additional ways to earn status through credit card spending, and plans for its first airport lounges.

The good news? Rapid Rewards points will continue to have no expiration date, and reward flights will remain free of blackout dates.

These changes represent a major shift for an airline that built its reputation on keeping things simple.
