Hi folks, welcome to another Hollywood Studios Wednesday here at Dapper Bear Travel! Some exciting news out of the recent Star Wars Celebration event held in Japan last weekend concerning one of my favorite attractions, that being Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Starting on May 22 of next year, the attraction will introduce a new storyline featuring our favorite father/son duo of The Mandalorian & Grogu where guests will be in control of where the story takes them! After taking off from Batuu and a pit stop at Tatooine, your crew on the Falcon will choose between three new exciting locales to visit: Bespin, Endor, or Coruscant. The best bit of news to come out of this for single riders like me is that the Engineer role is getting a substantial upgrade in importance, that being the Engineer will be interacting with and caring for Grogu throughout the attraction. As a fan of the series, I'm definitely looking forward to having something different to do😂Now from some earlier reports that I saw, the attraction experience as it stands now will also still be an option after this new experience is implemented, but that could change between now and then so stick to this page for the latest updates concerning this attraction. It's never too early to plan your next Disney getaway, so reach out to me today about how I can plan everything for you and your party today!

When I tell you that H2O Glow Nights is one of the most fun things outside of the parks that I've done, it's the truth! For just above the price of a regular water park ticket, you can experience an exclusive after hours event at Typhoon Lagoon that's sure to be fun for everyone. The event hours are from 8-11 PM, but you can get in as early as 6, extending the fun and getting more bang for your buck. Beyond that, the event features reduced wait times for attractions due to a limited capacity, exclusive meet and greets with some of your favorite Disney characters, a DJ dance party on the beach, and popcorn, ice cream, and select bottled beverages INCLUDED in the ticket price. My friend and I went a couple years in a row after this event was first introduced and it was so much fun being able to walk onto most of the attractions and hang out in a mostly empty park. The vibes were immaculate and I can't wait to go again soon😎Ask me today how we can incorporate this awesome event into your next Disney getaway today!

While I prefer the counterpart in California, Peter Pan's Flight in Walt Disney World is a ride I still make plans to experience whenever I'm in town. The tricky part is getting through the line for it😂As I'm writing this at 10:35 AM, the line is holding steady at 45 minutes with the projections I'm seeing having it go higher as the day goes on and the Lightning Lane return times are already at 7:15 PM. It's one of the single most popular attractions at the Magic Kingdom, and it's not hard to see why! The queue itself has gotten a bit of a facelift in the last decade (and thankfully some additional A/C for the many hot days in Florida) by adding in the Darling residence including Wendy, Michael, & John's bedroom with some interactive elements to help the time go by in case you didn't get a Lightning Lane for this. Once you do get through the queue, you're greeted by what I consider to be one of the best themed ride vehicles for any of the Disney attractions, that being a floating pirate galleon suspended from a track in the ceiling. I love watching the ships go by as I'm waiting in the queue, wondering which brightly colored ship I'm going to end up with. You're then whisked away through a brief retelling of the Peter Pan movie, complete with black lighted set pieces and many of the older model animatronics that still have their charm about them when compared to the ones you'd see in something like Pirates of the Caribbean for example. Peter Pan's Flight is one of those attractions that I tell everyone I know to make time for, especially if they have little ones because it's one of the classic Disney dark rides that we just don't see getting made anymore. Ask me about what current deals and special offers are going on at the Walt Disney World Resort today!

In another case of "Enjoy it while you still can" at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Rock N' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith is one of those roller coasters I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with. What I mean by that is I love the theming, music, and track of this attraction, but HATE waiting for it😂 Even in the single rider line that I would use 99% of the time I visited this attraction, I would still end up waiting upwards of 30-45 minutes on average because of how the trains are loaded here and I would avoid it completely on the really busy days. If you and your party are interested in experiencing this, I would recommend either rope dropping this first thing in the morning along with Tower of Terror next door or getting a Lightning Lane set up to return later. Make sure to cover your ears when you get to the merge point of the lines inside the building as people LOVE to play with the doors there (They have marbles inlaid into the faces that sit inside of these boxes in the door and they make the most God awful sound known to man). And what did I mean by enjoy it while you still can? I touched on this when I had my MuppetVision 3D post last month, but to remind you this attraction is getting a retheme away from the now retired Boston based band to The Muppets and it's expected to close sometime during the year to start the changeover. Personally, I'm completely okay with this🤷‍♂️For me, this is one of those cases where nostalgia isn't a good thing. I know this is weird coming from me for those who do know me, but the whole area feels dated and in need of a facelift. It still has that feel from when it first opened in 1999, but not in a good way I don't think. Moving onto something that's a bit more timeless like The Muppets is the right move, with Disney being able to keep The Muppets in the park & relevant as they get ready to close down MuppetVision 3D. What do you think though?

The whole Finding Nemo IP is something I've always considered a warm blanket, something I can always come back to when I want to feel good. I think a lot of it has to do with nostalgia and how many times I watched it in science class back in middle school, but I've just always loved the color palette and design of the series. This extends to today's subject, The Seas with Nemo & Friends. The magic starts with you being greeted by the ever greedy seagulls out on the rocks in front of the attraction (shown here mid wave crash), leading you inside to an Australian beach on a boardwalk, then down underneath the waves as you wind your way through the queue. I really do love the transition as it does an effective job in storytelling about how you've just entered the "Big, Blue World". You then load into your Omnimover clamshell vehicle where the story of Finding Nemo is retold through numerous scenes combining both animatronics and screen technology. The screen technology itself is impressive as it's projected onto the glass from the numerous tanks found in Seabase Alpha where you can see real live fish and other aquatic mammals swimming around. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Epcot from 1 to 100 as I think it holds that similar "edutainment" vibe of classic Epcot Center, albeit a little updated for the times of IP tie-ins. It also doesn't hurt that the wait time is rarely ever above 20 minutes😂

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in the New Fantasyland section of the Magic Kingdom is a perfect roller coaster for your child to graduate to after they've conquered something like The Barnstormer in Storybook Circus. It's a good middle ground between that and something with more thrills like a Big Thunder or Space Mountain because it's a roller coaster that has a few dips and fast sections like The Barnstormer but also has a stop in the mine in between to have a dark ride section for them to catch their breath. The queue is very interactive (please don't refill your water bottles in the streams found there😂) with a bunch of games to keep your little ones occupied while waiting in the very long lines that can be found here. As I type this, the line is currently down and the Lightning Lane passes for the day have already been fully distributed. To combat these problems, I would personally recommend either securing your Lightning Lane passes as soon as possible when your window opens or by rope dropping this attraction at the beginning of the day to get it out of the way. If you have a burgeoning coaster enthusiast on your hands, I would definitely recommend this once they pass the 38" height requirement for this attraction😊

For the best selection of Cajun/Creole food in New Orleans Square, I would definitely recommend the recently opened Tiana's Palace, based off of the dream restaurant of Tiana from The Princess & The Frog. You'll find a large array of Cajun favorites from jambalaya to Catfish Po'Boys to two different gumbos and Muffalettas. For dessert, the ever-present beignets of New Orleans Square are available for purchase, this one being a strawberry cream filled beignet with strawberry glaze which I think is perfect for this time of year. If you're looking to be on the go and in the mood for some soulful food, I'd definitely choose this place if you're in the neighborhood for lunch or dinner.

I lightly touched on this attraction when I discussed the Blue Bayou Restaurant and how you can be seated near the waters to watch the boats passing by, but this attraction is so much more than that. Pirates of the Caribbean has been your source for swashbuckling adventures for nearly 60 years and after having experienced it myself for the first time 7 years ago, I can see why the people keep coming back. Now for context, I grew up in Florida having experienced the Walt Disney World version of this attraction for many years. But when I tell you that that version absolutely pales in comparison to the Disneyland version, it's because I'm speaking from experience. First of all, the version at Disneyland is much longer than what you'll experience at Walt Disney World, with multiple levels to experience as California doesn't have to deal with pesky things like a water table like in Florida. There are so many scenes in the Disneyland version that straight up don't exist in the Florida version (like the one seen in the last picture) that add so much more to the experience. I just feel like while the charm in the Florida version is still there, this version in California really cranks it up a notch and has that feel of Walt having personally overseen it where the Florida one doesn't. I'm not sure how to quantify it into words, so you'll just have to take my word for it😂Ask me today how we can fit this Disneyland classic into your next Disney getaway today!
