I know everyone is waiting for the publication of "The Divine Circle of Ladies Dancing Up a Storm". I haven't forgotten but have had a very complicated and busy time since Mother's passing. I am hoping to get the book published later this fall and will try to keep you updated as the publication date gets to be 'real'. Thank you all for your patience.

It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Dolores Stewart Riccio, on Sunday May 21, 2017. Mother was very proud to have the appreciation and support of all the fans of Cass Shipton and all the women of the Circle books. Mother's death was very sudden, certainly unexpected and I will miss her every day. I will be following through on the publication of her latest Cass Shipton book, "The Divine Circle of Ladies Dancing Up a Storm" and will keep this page up to date when I have the definite publication date. In the meanwhile, keep the magic in your heart. ~~~Lucy-Marie Sanel

The Divine Circle of Ladies Dancing Up a Storm is on its way!
Dear Friends and Readers, so happy to report that I’ve sent the new Circle book to my publisher at long last! I’m told that the process of publishing has been speeded up to about one month, if I don’t take too long in proofreading the printed book. I confess to agonizing over that “last look” but I do want to get this book out and about in time to be a Hot Summer Read.

Dear friends...what I mean to say is, I've finished #11 and I'm about to send it to the publisher, but the publishing process takes a few weeks, so you won't see a listing until then. Believe me, I will post the glad tidings as soon as the new book is available. (No one is happier than the author to see a book in print at last!) It will be a print book as well as an ebook. The title is The Divine Circle of Ladies Dancing Up a Storm. The story begins in their hometown of Plymouth where the ladies confront a dangerous internet predator. When that problem seems to be resolves, the ladies set off for Greece in a pilgrimage to the ruins of the Oracle at Delphi and also a visit to Joe's family's farm on Crete for some feasting, festivities, and Greek dancing. Back in Plymouth, some loose ends are still dangling.....

Bright blessings on May 1st to all those who are celebrating Beltane, the spring festival of fire, one of four great festivals of the Celtic year. Beltane celebrates and honors new life and creativity. “Bringing in the May” is the lovely custom of gathering wild flowers to give away to neighbors. May Wine is flavored with woodruff. In the May Bowl, strawberry liqueur is added to May Wine, garnished with fresh strawberries. Doesn’t that sound good!

Dear Readers and Friends. Just a refresher on my 10 Circle books. The first 4 were published by Kensington Books, a firm that still owns the rights. That means I have no control over availability, price, or whether there is an ebook. .After Kensington dropped the series, I went on to self-publish 6 more books. All are available as ebooks although only at Kindle, because I am publishing through CreateSpace at Amazon. I have finished the 11th book and will be publishing that, too, through the same venue, as soon as possible.

Bright Blessings to all at the Spring Equinox, March 20

At last, the hours of light are equal to the hours of darkness—a victory for faith and hope, the Vernal Equinox has been celebrated for as long as human beings have looked up at the skies. Now each day will bring a little more sunshine, a little less night-time.

Gardens are planned and/or planted, depending on one’s weather zone, and all the world seems to be devoted to the idea of rebirth.
Not only new plantings, new animal nurslings, new human babies, but Creation itself is the center of this holiday. New ideas to make the world better, new loves to warm our hearts, new music, new works of art and literature to delight and inspire us—all are evoked by the spirit of spring.

In March

What’s needed is a freshening of outlook,
spring cleaning--rooting out the bitter rinds
of winter lurking in some kitchen nook,
a wizened orange that we cannot find.
It’s time to w**d out all those old dolors,
to look for loopholes in the hidebound law.
What’s needed here are gypsy-dancing colors,
the crocus starting up through last year’s straw,
a loosening up of some tight-fisted buds,
a swish of yellow willow brooms, a hint
of resurrection stirring through the blood,
a thorough mop-up of time’s icy footprints,
a listening to the wind tune up its strings,
a shaking out of damp and mildewed wings.

FEELING GOOD! I've finally finished the new Circle novel--The Divine Circle of Ladies Dancing Up a Storm--and it's on the way to the editor/copy editor and friend readers. I'm going to London for a few days early in March, and when I get home I'll make the last corrections and then it's ON to the publisher. That won't take long either, since I go the way of self-publishing.

The Blessings of Imbolc to all who celebrate!

On the Eve of February 1, at the first, very first, barely noticeable signs of spring, ancient peoples celebrated Imbolc. (Never mind if it’s snowing in your world—the crocus and snowdrops are coming!) This was the season of lambing, so milk-white candles were lit and milky foods were included in the Imbolc feast. The presiding queen of Imbolc is Brigid, the Unstoppable Goddess. She is variously known as Brigid, Brigit, Bridget, Brighid, Brighde, Brig, or Bride—and even the Vedic Sanskrit word Brihati, which means divine one. So popular was Brigid with the common folk that the early Christian fathers decided to transform her worship by elevating her to the sainthood. (Later demoted, like St. Chris and St. Nick.) Brigid is a triple goddess. She is the inspiration of poets as well as many other creative arts, and she confers the gift of prophecy. She’s a force for healing and a guide for midwives. She’s the mentor of smithcrafts, especially goldsmiths.

For This One Day

Let fall from our hands
the busy pages and works.
Walk in the sunlight
and read the holy book of earth
leaf by cloud, wave by wing.
Listen by moonlight
to wind and cricket, owl and wolf.
In the smooth skin of stones,
in the flowing heart of trees,
in the gathering ocean,
we will know each other again
for the first time.
