“Get the swim-out.” I mean, I’m certainly not going to argue with that advice.

One of my favorite things about touring and staying at a wide variety of resorts is getting to see the different room categories in person — and you better believe I’m always checking out the swim-outs.

Private pools, shared lazy-river-style pools, quiet and tucked away, or right in the middle of the action…not all swim-outs are created equal or the right fit for every traveler. But more often than not, that upgrade is absolutely worth it.

That firsthand knowledge and experience is part of what I bring to planning your vacation.

Live Aqua Cancun | Adults-Only Luxury All-Inclusive

This week’s Featured Getaway is one of my personal favorites — Live Aqua Cancun. And this is one I can confidently say truly feels luxurious.

The service here is impeccable, the property is gorgeous, and the food is absolutely amazing. MB is a must for dinner (the habanero soup alone is worth talking about 🌶️), and I could happily make a meal out of the sushi station.

One of the things I especially love about Live Aqua is the atmosphere. Cancun’s Hotel Zone is known for its high-rise resorts and can sometimes have more of a Miami feel, but Live Aqua makes such beautiful use of its outdoor spaces. It’s lush, green and tropical, with gorgeous pools, palms and landscaping that give the resort a much softer, more relaxing feel.

It’s sophisticated without feeling stuffy, has fantastic food and cocktails, beautiful ocean views, and the kind of service that keeps Live Aqua firmly on my list of favorite adults-only all-inclusives.
