Don’t worry... they weren’t asleep the whole time. 😂

Yes, all three boys managed to sneak in a few naps on safari.

To be fair, our days started around 5:30 AM, game drives lasted 3–4 hours, and something about riding in a safari vehicle put them right to sleep.

But they were awake for almost every animal sighting and absolutely loved every game drive. They were always the first to spot an elephant, cheer when we found lions, and ask a hundred questions about everything they saw.

So yes... they napped. But by the end of the week, they were begging to stay longer and see more animals. 🥹🦁

Read this if Giraffe Manor is on your bucket list. 🦒

We weren’t sure if Giraffe Manor would live up to all the hype.

After seeing it all over Instagram for years, we wondered if it would be one of those places that looks incredible online but feels a little underwhelming in person.

was even better than we imagined.

We’ve fed giraffes before at the Giraffe Centre (and even at zoos), but this was a completely different experience and worth the hype.

What surprised us most wasn’t just the iconic breakfast photos—it was how many opportunities we had to interact with the giraffes throughout our stay. Every time they wandered up to us, stuck their heads through a window, or gently took food from our hands, it felt just as exciting as the first.

Here’s what (almost) 24 hours at Giraffe Manor looked like for us:
🕛 12:00 PM – Check in and settle into your room.
🌿 1:00 PM – Explore the beautiful property, relax by the pool or whirlpool bath, book a spa treatment, paint, or walk over to the Giraffe Centre.
☕ 4:30–6:00 PM – Afternoon tea with pastries while the giraffes roam the lawn. Feed them from the terrace, take the famous swing photos, and feed three giraffes at once.
🍽️ 6:30 PM – Dinner on the patio.
😴 Sleep (dream of more giraffes.)
🌅 5:00 AM – Wake up to giraffes outside your balcony or window, and yes, feed them.
🦒 6:00 AM – Feed the giraffes around the property and snap the classic doorway photos before breakfast.
🥐 7:00 AM – The iconic breakfast with giraffes popping their heads through the windows.
☕ 7:30 AM – Finally eat your breakfast... while the giraffes continue to stop by for a visit.
😭 10:00 AM – Check out and say goodbye.

If you’re wondering whether Giraffe Manor is worth the splurge, our answer is 100% yes. It was one of the most unique places we’ve ever stayed, and we’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Of course we did 🥰

But saying “it was amazing” doesn’t begin to cover it.

This wasn’t just about seeing lions or elephants or checking off a bucket-list destination. It was watching our boys experience Africa for the first time and completely fall in love with it. Seeing their faces every time they spotted an animal. Hearing them ask if we could do this every day.

I can’t put those feelings into words. I just know this is a trip our family will never forget. 💙

Looking for the best things to do with kids in Dallas-Fort Worth? 👀 Add KidZania Frisco to your list!

This kid-sized city gives children the opportunity to explore 20+ careers through hands-on experiences, role-playing, and interactive learning.
