Hey fellow travelers, I'm Anja, the face behind TropiQ Trips. And here's everything you wanted to know about ME but were too afraid to ask 😀
- I was born in a country that does not exist anymore (East Germany used to be the German Democratic Republic until the wall came down in 1989, yes, I am an "Ossi")
- The first language I learned in school was Russian. This was the norm in Communist East Germany.
- I was not allowed to travel abroad when I was young, with a few exceptions to other communist countries, which created an insatiable desire to see the world.
- Once the wall came down, in 1989, and we were allowed to travel, I set off to see the world. I spent a year in the US as an Au pair right after high school, worked on cruise ships, lived in the United States, Australia, and Panama, which allowed me to explore Latin America.
- I have been to all the continents, YES, including the Antarctic peninsula - thanks to my previous job as the Shore Excursion Manager on cruise ships.
- I have forgotten all the Russian I learned (although I can still read and write in Cyrillic letters), but am fluent in Spanish, English, and German, of course.
- Thanks to my time spent working in Panama, I still love Latino music 🎶 a lot and listen to it every time I can and always when I cook - which drives my husband crazy 😉
