I went so you don’t have to wonder. 👀✨
On Wednesday I had the chance to visit Universal Kids Resort on the very first public preview day. Before it officially opens on July 1. And as your travel advisor, I’m here to give you the honest, firsthand scoop.
This park is something special for families with little ones. Less thrill, more wonder. And I mean that in the best way. If you walk in expecting Disney or Epic Universe, recalibrate. If you walk in expecting a magical first theme park experience for your 3–8 year old? You’re going to love it.
Here’s what you need to know. 👉🏾Swipe through for the full breakdown.

I walked in at 10:04 AM on the first public preview day and stopped to take it all in. 7 themed lands. Families, kids, content creators, travel professionals. The energy was electric. The crowds were basically non-existent. This is the kind of access that makes firsthand advisory intel possible. 🙌🏾
🧸 Isle of Curiosity (Gabby’s Dollhouse)
🌈 Trollsfest (DreamWorks Trolls)
🐸 Shrek’s Swamp
🐱 Puss in Boots Del Mar
🦕 Jurassic World Adventure Camp
🍍 Bikini Bottom (SpongeBob)
💛 Minions vs. Minions
Branch had zero wait. Gabby threw a surprise outdoor dance party and gave kids high-fives. I met Kevin the Minion. The Baby Raptor in Jurassic World is adorable. Pro tip: pick up your photo card at your first character meet and scan it at every stop. Your photos save automatically and you review and purchase at the end. Day pass is $37.88. Worth it, especially when your phone is overheating in 85° Texas heat. 😅
The rides are short. Like, really short. For a 3–5 year old on their first roller coaster? Perfect. For an 8+ year old? They’ll want more. The Cretaceous Coaster in Jurassic World was the most thrilling. I almost rode it twice because the crowds were so light. The ride I cannot wait to try with my kids: Bello Bay Cruise in Minions. Full water rapids. You
