“You blend.” 😄🎬

One of our movie-location road trips took us into small-town Georgia l to revisit filming locations from My Cousin Vinny. From the iconic Sac-O-Suds to the courthouse square and historic buildings used throughout the film, it was easy to recognize scenes from one of our favorite comedy classics.

There’s something fun about standing in places you’ve seen on screen for years — especially when the locations still look like they belong in the movie.

This trip combined movie nostalgia, Southern small-town charm, and exactly the kind of roadside exploring we love most.

Cabin fever had me digging into some Memphis, Indiana roadside history last winter, and I ended up finding some pretty incredible old US 31 photos to recreate around town.

It’s hard to imagine now, but this little stretch of highway once had gas stations, cafes, and motor courts serving travelers long before Interstate 65 came through.

I put together several then-and-now comparisons from around Memphis, and some of the roadside ghosts are still surprisingly easy to spot.

Hope you enjoy the ride down old US 31.

We’ve got the best friends. One of us is facing a job loss and a couple of our friends from St Louis decided to make our Friday brighter with this beauty from our favorite bakery here in southern Indiana, Adrienne and Co. Bakery Cafe. There are harder things to deal with in life than a pending job loss, but when it’s the hardest thing you’re dealing with at the moment, a little surprise like this goes a long way.

Next time you find yourself traveling through the Louisville metro area on your next roadtrip, head across the Ohio River to Jeffersonville, Indiana and grab yourself some sweet treats from Adrienne, our go-to bakery! And of course, like their page!

One of our favorite ways to spend time at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head is touring the model homes—something Alan introduced us to on our first visit.

What started as simple curiosity turned into real inspiration. From updating our home in Indiana to influencing decisions in our new build, these homes sparked more ideas than we ever expected.

There’s just something about stepping inside—coastal design, laid-back Margaritaville vibes, even Jimmy Buffett playing in the background—that makes it easy to imagine a different kind of life.

Even if we never own there, it’s a place we’ll keep coming back to—for inspiration, for fun, and for time well spent.

When one of our favorite ice cream stands has an expensive freezer break down during a slow week of business, we show up to help lessen the burden by ordering some tasty treats. Make Norma Jean's Ice Cream in Borden, Indiana a stop next time you’re in the Kentuckiana region near Louisville.

During our month stay at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head in June 2025, we spent our first weekend exploring Savannah, and it turned into one of those easy, memorable afternoons. From spotting a vintage neon motel sign to grabbing pralines and pizza in City Market—it all just came together.

There’s something about Route 66 that always pulls me in—and Poker Face Episode 2 hits it perfectly.

“The Night Shift” takes place in a small New Mexico town, but the real filming spans Moriarty, Albuquerque, and Kingman—all right along Route 66.

From a classic Whiting Bros. gas station to a motel that doubles as a roadhouse, this one feels like stepping straight into a road trip.

The first episode of Poker Face immediately felt familiar—because it was.

Set in Laughlin, Nevada, Dead Man’s Hand uses the Riverside Resort as the fictional Frost Casino, along with several real locations across Laughlin and Bullhead City, Arizona.

On our July 2023 trip, we tracked down these spots and saw them in person—from the casino to Charlie’s trailer and beyond.

It’s hard to believe… but we’re heading back to Route 66.

Eleven years ago, we made this trip with Jameson when he was just a kid. This June, we’re doing it again—only now he’s 15, and this time, he’s not just along for the ride.

We’ll be revisiting some of the same places, stopping at familiar roadside spots, and even recreating a few of those old photos from 2014 and 2015. Same road, same stops… just a little more life in between.

This trip has taken on a few new layers, too.

Jameson introduced us to Breaking Bad years ago—and now we’re finally heading to Albuquerque to see those filming locations in person. From there, we’ll head into Nevada, where places like Goodsprings and Las Vegas take on a whole different meaning thanks to Fallout: New Vegas.

And along the way, we’ll weave in a few of our own interests too—some TV locations, a stop in Tulsa with a little Margaritaville connection, and of course, plenty of classic Route 66.

We’re planning a fast push west… and then a slower trip home.

The kind where you take your time, stop a little more often, and notice things you might have missed before.

There’s something special about going back.

We’ll be sharing along the way 🚗🛣️
