Hi, this is Zendi Hoots. Most of you already know me, but for those of you who don't, I'm Tracy Birdwhistell & Harry Hoots daughter, and Chilton Birdwhistell’s claim to fame. 😜 I'm 11 years old and I attend West Lake Middle School.
When I was almost 4, my aunt Shelly & uncle Eugene adopted my new cousins Lera (age 13) & Vitaliy (age 14) from Ukraine. Everyone thought they were crazy, including themselves because my aunt and uncle already had 3 boys under the age of 8. But I was so excited I finally had someone to play Barbies with! Now, Lera spends the night almost weekly, and we chill in the king size bed doing hair, eating snacks, and watching sappy movies and reality shows. I can't imagine life without her. Oh, and Vitalik is ok too. 😁
Over the last 7 years, we have helped with many adoptions. A couple of years ago, some friends of ours started an Hebron IT Academy for aged-out orphans. In Ukraine the kids who don't get adopted are on their own by age 17, and the statistics are not good. This Academy makes a huge difference in giving them a chance for a better job and a better life. My aunt and different cousins have made several mission trips there taking donations and teaching Bible Stories, English Boot Camp, and American business skills. And now, it's my turn! My Aunt Shelly and I are going to Lviv, Ukraine January 10-21, 2019. I will be helping with English lessons and educational and cultural outings like going to the Opera and visiting famous places! So yeah, travel, talking, and exploring--I think I'm made for this! 😂
I am collecting donations to help cover the cost of the trip and donations needed for the IT Academy. My goal is to raise $2000. We are having a Christmas Gift Fundraiser through my mom's Mary Kay business, and 100% of the profits will go towards my mission trip and donations. When I think how different my cousins' lives would have been if they hadn't been adopted into our family, I'm so thankful to have this opportunity to help others in any way I can. Thank you for your support! 💕😍 💕
