Massive thanks to Cordova Community Council for pulling out all the stops with their August Concert Series at Village Green this year. We had a blast last Friday with Adam Aldama & the Aces and it's clear that everyone else did, too!

The Destination Legacy Awards celebrate the Rancho Cordova attractions, events, restaurants, hotels, and professionals that are making meaningful impact on tourism in our community and fostering trust among regional travelers.

1️⃣ Think of a deserving leisure-focused event, attraction, restaurant, brewery, tourism professional, volunteer, organization, or hotel in Rancho Cordova that qualifies for your award of choice

Award Eligibility

✅ Nominees must be a physical attraction, hotel, event, brewery, or restaurant in the Rancho Cordova tourism economy that has been in operation for at least 1 year

✅ Applicants are not eligible if they have won the same award within the past 2 years

The Judging Process

➡️ Award nominees will be reviewed by a committee comprised of Visit Rancho Cordova board members and staff

➡️ Winners will be determined based on eligibility, impact on tourism, and strength of submission

Tourism Summit & Celebration Date

🏆 Winners will be notified in October, after the judges have made their final decision

🏆 All awards will be publicly celebrated at the Visit Rancho Cordova Annual Tourism Summit on Friday, November 6, 2026 (event announcement and ticket details to come)

"Hello merfolk, lagoon creatures, pirates, ocean-lovers, hobbyists, and landlubbers alike. My name is Kristen Achziger, the Director of Marketing and Communications at Visit Rancho Cordova. My job is to help promote the incredible, wonderful, and quirky events and attractions that make this community special.
I am so grateful that you’ve made it to Rancho Cordova to enjoy the California Mermaid Convention this weekend!
Many of you have been coming to the Con for years. It’s so fun for my team to see familiar fins and faces! For some of you, it’s your first time at this event, and maybe even your maiden voyage to the West Coast. When I began working in the marketing department at Visit Rancho Cordova and learned that our partners Ashley and Rachel founded a convention centered around one of my childhood fantasies, I was delighted. But little did I know just how much this event would come to mean to me...
Over my time with my organization, it has been such a pleasure to get to know the Con’s founders, step into a world of whimsy, and see magic made real in front of my very own eyes..." -- Continued on tomorrow's post!
