Two awards. One unforgettable summer. A whole lot to celebrate! 🏆 🏆 We are beyond thrilled to announce that Visit Rancho Cordova earned not one, but TWO Merit Awards for our inaugural Summer of Shenanigans photo challenge campaign at last night’s PRSA California Capital Chapter Influence Awards!

What started as a creative idea sparked at a tourism industry conference became an award-winning campaign, thanks to the hard work, innovation, and dedication of our incredible Marketing Team. We couldn't be prouder of this achievement and the team that brought Summer of Shenanigans to life. Here's to bold ideas, creative storytelling, and celebrating Rancho Cordova in exciting new ways!

We're so thankful to every local and traveler who played Summer of Shenanigans with us. Over 1,100+ photos were submitted and 1,200+ check-ins were counted amongst participants, blowing our expectations out of the water!

We had the best time supporting small businesses and encouraging more foot traffic to the epic events and attractions our destination has to offer. We're excited to do it again with our newest holiday photo challenge, Cozy Crawl, running from October through December 31!

Every October, something sinister stirs at Rancho Cordova’s Mine Shaft, where creatures of the night emerge from the shadows and brave souls venture into the macabre world of Heartstoppers Haunts.

Rumored to harbor restless spirits from the past, the Mine Shaft cuts an imposing silhouette against a brooding October sky, its shadowy presence hinting at the horrors lurking within.

Follow the flickering lamp posts through an eerie ghost town to find a live stage show, photo opps with creepy face characters, fire jugglers, and four newly-updated haunts: Blightwoods, Deadlands, House McCutchens, and Misery Mine.

Are you brave enough to face the skeletal stiltwalker, unsettling Baba Yaga, or veiled ghouls... and the jump scares hidden around every dark corner?

Take your pick of October Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and get tickets (which include full access to all haunts) before they sell out! This year, there's a new VIP ticket tier complete with spooky upgrades you won't want to miss.

All October long, the 16th annual Vegan Chef Challenge is bringing brand-new vegan dishes to restaurants across Sacramento County, and TWO Rancho Cordova spots are part of the fun: Mimo Bake Studio and The Caring Kitchen. 🫐 🇧🇷 🍪 🍰

We're so proud to see Rancho Cordova's local restaurants represented in this regional challenge. Now it’s your turn to show them some love!

Here’s how to join in, even if you're not a vegan and just want to taste some great food:

🥕 Try the special Vegan Chef Challenge menu items at MiMo Bake Studio and The Caring Kitchen from October 1 - 31, 2026.

⭐ Head to the Vegan Chef Challenge website (Sacramento chapter) and use the easy rating form to rank each item you try. (If you try 3 or more participating restaurants, you can also fill out their Super Voter ranking form!)
